@JoshK:

Hey, I bought 3DWS and getting it to interface with FPSC (Riker 9 Project). I may have some specific questions for you here shortly. Is it ok if I email you?

Great job, koolaid! And Josh, nice one! That text above the door, "Leadwerks Technology", is that 3d or a texture? It looks like it's 3d.

Cellbloc, just send an email to him. You shouldn't have to ask to get a permission to send him an email. Oh, and since I've already one off topic, I might just say that Riker 9 sounds great. I DO have FPSC, but I just don't like it...

Okay im working on the final area of this map, which is the biggest area there is, compared to the small corriders. I placed a regular light entity in there, but i want that to be sunlight pouring in from above. I cannot get the sunlight entity correct or to look like the scene now. Screenie below.

What's up with that blue texture? But apart from that it's looking very nice. And are you going to use this for a game(of so, any WIP threads?)?

Thanks. The blue texture is just a temporary texture i use when modeling. Sometimes i like to see thinks in texture mode and i use that to cover the other areas. I do have a WIP thread i started called Krizon, you can check some things out over there as well.

i know it's not a map but i was trying out a model (i exported in .x format) to see how it looked in 3DWS. the model was bad. so i thought i'd rough out the model while in 3DWS to get a better idea for going back to maya. i kind of got carried away. had to force myself from adding to it. due to no way to reimport it back into maya.

This isn't quite done yet, but I like the look of it so far.

EDIT: As you can see, I am in need of better textures!

Hey that looks not bad. The textures aren't as bad as you say, they have a certain unique look about them but I don't know if that is what you are going for or not.

Thanks!
Nah, the textures were really just something I had lying around. I just chose the ones I had that would fit best into the scene.

A tree helps a lot. This tree is from Tree Magik. I haven't retextured yet, but I will soon, I have to use some of the textures from the CD for something!
