I'm new to 3D World Studio and made the map Killhouse from CoD4.

(Does anybody know how to make spawnpoints? Don't know that yet)

What do you think of it? Is this ggod for a beginner

Hey all, I am new to this forum so let me first introduce myself. Hi! My name is Ryan, 22 yrs old, living in St. Petersburg, FL, USA,
How the heck are ya!?

Hehe, Anyway. I do a lot of environment design work and love it to death. I stumbled upon 3DWS on Google and thought I would give it a try. Here are a few screen shots of a little bit of work I got done. I apologize for the basic textures and incomplete architecture, I just want some quick opinions. Thanks in advance!

I made this scene in Cshop, it took me 2 hours to finish the actual map in cshop (there's alot of detail that can't be seen in the pictures), 3 1/2 hours if you take into account the time it took to make the textures.

I applied a basic rusty metal texture overlay over all of the textures i used in the scene and the outcome changed alot, it looks like it's been there for a few years

New map in progress :

All textures were made by me (except the grass )

I'm trying to go for an old polish-like architecture. I've gathered alot of reference pictures of old polish buildings and i'm making the texture after them, it's alot of fun.

3dws handled it great, however I should have said that I took dbp to its outer limits instead because after exporting and loading a file into dbp , the fps was a little low , but I had so much stuff in it that I wasn't too suprised about that.
One thing I have to say is that if you buy the registered version it doesn't copy the files over into some of the directories , you have to do that manually. Hopefully they will come up with a better install file later on. but I have to tell you that I absolutely love 3dws and recomend it.
heres some screenies of how that pic above looks :

Gamerboots~
