Sounds like a plan Clonkex
try two perspectives though, user based and dev based maybe? User regarding aesthetics, controls, music, level design... dev wise areas for improvement or enhancement, methods of certain features [How they may have created xyz feature/scene]... etc...
Regarding Two GPU's VS. One GPU, it costs you more in the long run having two versus one, as you effectively are using two lower optimised cards sucking higher Wattages compared to a single optimised card with the brute force behind it... at least this is my perspective... I always look at the long run costs not the up front costs... Also I do believe the game has to support the feature as well to fully benefit from the performance, but it has been a while since I last looked into SLI......
Your argument may be, OH I live at home, bla bla bla... you will eventually move out and trust me, nothing stings more than high utility bills... [Well it is after rent/mortgage and groceries the highest cost to your wallet] also, you should be concerned about what your usage is doing to your electricity bills even if living at home... shame on you
Also be very sure to compare cards...
Like, do you really need a 2GB GPU at a slightly higher cost, when all you will be playing is DOTA... or Minecraft... also note the memory types, DDR3 VS. DDR5 also note the memory speeds, ~1GHZ VS. ~5GHZ I am almost certain a ~5GHZ DDR5 based GPU will have more FPS than a 2GB DDR3 ~1GHZ GPU...
So many darn variables
I do not claim to know everything about GPU's but some things are logical
I am expecting this little toy to arrive later today...
N730K-1GD5LP/OC
It has enough power [384 cores] so something higher was really not that much a requirement... the wattage is quite satisfactory too as it will sit in a system that is on 24/7
DX12 API [Feature level 11_0]
OpenGL 4.4
3 Active displays or a 4K display at umm 24Hz
Adaptive VSync...
And a stated 49Watt~ peak consumption...
And decent cooling and low profile too... [Albeit the case is a beast, they just did not have anything bigger
] not fussed about PCIE3.0 as this is siting in an older mobo... if I were to upgrade the board I would also get a new GPU to match the release time of the board... in other words another decent GPU at that time... but I am more interested in getting a decent Intel Iris class GPU [On Chip]... and stick liquid cooling on the sucker... thus saving me the added power cost of an add-in card...
OKOK, I did a lot of garden work last night and it has my adrenaline pumping... :/ could not sleep lol
EDIT
Clonkex, BUT STILL KEEP THE CHATTER AS WELL!
