Is that a joke? The Website clearly says, you need a Shadermodel 2.0 card

Your graphics card is incompatible with the Mod, AlanC

Welcome to the club mate....

I'm managing though.....

Hang on, is that smoke coming outta my computer tower?

@Nighthawk

I recommend you use HDR bloom, it needs less graphical push and is just as good......

There's alotta people here who don't have "middle-end" PC setups.....

coffee grunt, there's absolutely no advantage of HDR Bloom (this even doesn't make sense if you think about the technical aspect)

the HDR Bloom takes 2 passes - the actual way we render our bloom takes only 1 pass

the main thing that is causing such lag is the resolution of the water cameras

there are 2 always updated images from the Reflection and Refraction camera
both 1024x1024 px in size

the performance is much better with a lower resolution, but at 256x256 it looks like crap

i'll see what i can do for you all (changing water res was planned somehow or other)

Hey, this looks great! I feel real angsty for not being able to test it out until next sunday, my computer's 150 km away.

Anyhow, will test it out as soon as I can. Looks really great.

Anyway to stop water from being in it at all? I
think it could add back some FPS and I just want the bloom.

in the next version can only add option to see the menu only near game editing and when poste the game.exe to cannot user see the mod etc. and the mod option /value...

I can build one game with this mod "but only the creator can change the water size.. color ...etc..?

Because i think to release final game using this mod must have this little option..

"i love about what i see using this mod"..
GWork..

Quote: "there's absolutely no advantage of HDR Bloom"

Not true, with HDR you can make dark scenes visible(and it's slightly more realistic), as many FPSC projects suffer from rather poor illumination. However DBP is is not really capable of any true HDR implementation so I guess it doesn't really matter. But on its own HDR has no relation to bloom as they are very different effects.

Quote: "(this even doesn't make sense if you think about the technical aspect)"

It does, HDR on its own will only serve to normalize the average brightness of the rendered scene, it won't add any bloom on its own, however it's quite common to implement bloom with HDR to give a better sense of brightness for brighter light sources, so you could call this HDR bloom, as that's essentially what it is.

Quote: "the HDR Bloom takes 2 passes - the actual way we render our bloom takes only 1 pass"

The bloom that can be coupled with HDR should or can use the same technique as you would use with standard bloom, as HDR on its own does not have/need bloom. So with HDR you can have 1,2 or 5 pass bloom(or none). However for typical bloom rendering(for fast and good quality), 2 passes should be the minimum, using one pass will make small light sources look quite poor(assuming you only do H and V samples) compared to using two passes, if you do diagonal samples too then they may look the same but you'd end up doing double the amount of samples than you would with a standard 2 pass setup which will be slower.

AaronG discovered the "hidden feature"

ok, just joking

Quote: "The underwater doesn't work....."

Yep, found out
but it works for me when changing underwatercolor with the Customizer (after closing it disappears)

and i also found out it's affected by physics (and that doesn't make any sense)

i'm currently bughunting, 1.5 should be out at the end of the month or mid March

but there's still 1.49 left...

Quote: " In test game i can't open the menu, i'm using V1.8"

could you specify that?

Maybe it's caused by the Downloader-Module of the Loader
It's file-oriented, that means the progressbar changes when a complete file is downloaded

i don't know your connection speed, but with 56k or 128k (ISDN) it can take a long time to download...
try the ZIP Version instead, it's smaller and works for sure

(i think it was on page 3 of this thread)

Try downloading the MFC71.DLL from the internet
Maybe you get a message that another DLL is missing, then

it's a thing of DBP... it's not a efxMod Error

but it should work when you download those DLLs

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc71

I'm seriously thinking of getting back to X9 till X10 is sorted out...

Some things like AI ect might not be 100% in X9 at least you got the graphical improvement without having to sell some thing personal like kidney's on the black market...

However with that said I think this creator should look at getting this mod sold...with some more neat added features as it shows TGC how it should be done instead of ignoring it....

I really wouldn't mind paying for this at all if it includes more neat features with better support than what we are getting from TGC....right now

No offence TGC you just haven't proved your self todate and your work is always under preforming or some thing else is missing...

To the creator thanks for all your effort you have put into this project I'm hoping your getting as much joy from this as we are getting from it...

I hope this is an expanding project with lots more added features to make FPSC users mouths drool and wet their...um er shoes.

You have proven that shaders can be successfully intergrated with in FPSC.Which proves that any thing can be done well almost any thing at least.

Now where is my list of things FPSC should have.AAHH found it under things FPSC will never see.........

Thanks again for your wonderful work and may this be motivation to continue with this great project...

Yeah not sure if it is a bug or some one reported it before.

But while looking at an area that has bloom moving up or down displaces the bloom till you stop moving...

Yeah thanks for the offer on the email but I wouldn't want to impose on your ideas you already have which is great by the way...

I really only have four features I would love to see in FPSC..

Directional and spot lighting
More shaders (metal,heathaze shader ect...)
And my most precious of all a particle system
Proper Dynamic lighting(In other words A dynamic light that casts a dynamic shadow)

Not really new feature is it not possible to add water like a segments will add plenty new options instead of having your whole level flooded and bloom having it only active in certain areas in other words switching bloom on or off by use of sripts

thanks

Feel almost guilty asking you for these features instead of asking TGC.....
