Hmmm. Lol I would go for just FPS Creator 2.
Not advanced or professional ... because no matter how much we try it can't make something like Crysis.

But seriously, subtitles are usally refering to the software itself, so it says it's the ultimate version of FPSC, not the ultimate game engine.

V2 was originally a completely different update. I personally think the noobs here would get too confused if that became the name of the migration.

I decided not to send another email to Lee just yet, maybe next week sometime. Now we need to lookout for the first signs of the X10 update, and maybe the Febuary newsletter might contain some information

OH... MY... GOD...
This is awesome! If they incorporated some mods into the migration, though, wouldn't that mean that we can's mod the source code anymore?

Some people say that I'm crazy... And I agree.

I know that current owners of FPSC will get these for free (at least from what I have heard), but users who first used the Free version and the bought the buildgame upgrade, will they get this for free to? Or do they need to buy it when it comes out?

maybe the Migration will be added somewhere into the store? Maybe If it recognizes that you purchased the buildgame addon then it'll give the migration to you for free?

Just a guess

From what I know, isn't GPU instancing when you render a model with a shader, and get your shader all set up so you have to change very few parameters in between renders? Or am I thinking of something else?

The migration will probably not be ready for months, so it just gives people more time to make things up about what will be included (I only trust what the REAL developers say will be included).

As Lemur is getting implemented, hopefully Lee wil also add air-mod as it is open source anyway.

Hope it doesn't take that long, because I'm getting a new laptop this year, which will either be for Vista or Windows 7 (hoping for Windows 7 as it's better than Vista), so I will be using x10 before long.

I myself would love to see the implementation of animated textures, so we could have bleeding walls, and animated video screens without the use of Decals, etc.

Just a thought.

Quote: "Plystire's new conditions and actions from his mod"

I'd like to push for some of these in particular to be added into the migration (with Ply's permission of course)

While all of the new commands and features, available through Ply's excellent mod are great additions, to me the most useful features that I'd like to see replicated in the migrations are:

The entity timer system (vital and to be honest I'm not sure why this hasn't been implemented before).

Dual Welding and Ammo Pooling (Just a cool feature and I think it brings FPSC in line with more modern engines)

PlrBlockedShot=X

setmaxweapslot=X

NextLevel=X (I find this very useful as it allows for alternative paths through a game allowing for extended game play)

Return (such a useful command it's had to imagine how it was missed out in the first place)

And obviously the camera commands (which to be honest I haven't played with much, but alternative cameras opens up a world of possibilities)

Lastly, and this is just my opinion, but I prefer Ply's variable system, I think it has a more familiar feel to us old school programmers and the ability for any command to reference a variable is a vital part of any scripting language, and of course names are easier to remember than numerical references).

Now reading back through this it seems I've listed almost all of the features in Ply's mod in one way or the other and I know including these in the migration would possibly deprive Ply of some sales and much deserved remuneration for his work which may be rather unfair. However,in addition to all of the features Lee has promised us, an improved scripting language and a wider range of commands seems to me to be vital to allow the engine to grow and I can't possibly see long a term future for the FPSC engine without including them.

Just my thoughts...

Private: DOOM 3! That particular effect was very cool, and creepy. At least "I" thought so. This is an option thats been available in lesser game engines since the heyday of DOOM, and Duke Nukem, etc.

A suggestion:
Some more use of phyiscs, since we will probably have ragdoll, why not make it possible to have other physicsrelated stuff?
You remember the trap in the cave in oblivion? The big log wich falls down attached to a rope? And the matress in Pneumbra (or something like that) wich apear to be soft and doodely (maybe a new word here )

This would take FPSC into a new level I guess.

I sent Lee a e-mail about some ideas/suggestions for the migration version... like empty-state animations, EAX (!), more airmod features (or a full intergration), weapon grouping, and more stuff. I'm still waiting for his response though.

When you least expect it... BOOM, HEADSHOT!!

i think we need directional lights like an option when you right click. also better, well you know when you shoot a wall the rubble that falls of, we need more realistic rubble or richochets...
