Ok now i'm thinking of releasing a beta either tonight or tomorrow, I wanted to take a vote to see how many people want a beta released some time tonight or tomorrow or want me to continue working on it and release the beta later. If you want me to continue working on it and release the beta later then I need some more ideas.

Edit: Sorry for double post.

Looking good. I have an other idea though... You know how FPS Creator bugs up every now and then? Telling that it can't find a file? How about making a 'smart' error... Like on every file it tries to load, Check if the file exists with the following function, if it doesn't it will return a USEFULL error and then shut down.

This function is used as :

It returns a 1 if the file exists, and will hand out a proper error and shuts down when it does not. This will make it a lot easier to debug *.fpe/*.fps or whatever files.

It's not the world that turns against you, it's you that turns against the world.

Player legs seem to be coming along nicely. In my opinion you should continue to work further on it to a point where you feel comfortable with the current commands and feel as if they should all work okay. So a stable like beta, where you wont expect to have 2 pages of bugs.

That's an old joke from when I was talking to Ply. He was talking about how good his legs were looking, so I asked for a picture of his legs.

Sounds good to me
edit: his player legs system may be different than Ply's. Ply has a very versatile system allowing more than just player legs, we will have to see if Hockey's is as well.

The Third Person looks great! I suggest tilting it a little bit down. Like closer to the player. I can't really explain it. It just looks a little bit high how it is.

I think you mean to lower the angle of the camera so it's more parallel to the character like this:

EDIT: (That picture was HUGE ) Silent Hill Camera

Just so you know I moved the angle up (moved the mouse up) so you could tell that its really third person and not just me standing behind the model.

@Hockeykid, looking forward to the 3rd person camera. Have you considered adding an over-the-shoulder camera as well?

Woow. Third person!
Can the model be changed? Like, so the player would be... a Chainsaw Brute for example? Or would that not work?

As for Engine limitations that would not work... The game counts every weapon as a gun, and thus if you 'attack' it would just attempt to shoot with a chainsaw in your hand... For Melee attacks the entire shooting system has to be remade to allow Melee, and every Melee char would need animations for that as well.

But it's most likely you can change the object, you just can't use Melee attacks... Just shoot guns.

It's not the world that turns against you, it's you that turns against the world.

Huh.. Well, that's sad then. But well, it doesn't matter that much, because I keep using Apple Juice mod, probably. Or maybe I'll use this when it's released... I dunno.

Looking good. What comands would be included with the third person feature?

My ideas are:
-area the player will appear on screen (choose if the player will be on the right side, left side etc.)
-camera turn sensitivity or something (so you can adjust how fast the camera will scroll when looking around the player)
-default view angle (So the angle the player will appear on screen by default. So if you'll see the player from the back, top etc by defualt)

Anyways take these ideas into consideration, there only mere suggestions to further influence the development of this new great feature. If you choose not to use these commands im sure you'll create even better ones

Hmm, so... Would it be possible to make it so that the camera could be rotated? Because that would be really cool! But I think it's not possible, though..

It's possible, technically ANYTHING is possible... However that would require a good amount of Math to work properly.(<-- Assuming you meant a rotating camera around the player object)

It wouldn't require that much hard maths really.

Thats ok Knxrb this is the one of the first things I added with it

You COULD yes, but then you would have to make the character controlled by a script, and not the player directly.

It should yes, but since I seriously HATE the FPS Creator scripting system I tend to avoid such things myself

Cool. A true scripter's mod other than Ply's Mod/PBUM. Finally.

That player's legs script is a lot simpler than I thought it would be. Nice work, hockeykid.
