Hi,
I have a problem that I don´t know if it´s Fenix related or not, but since wayne davis rocks mentions the same problem a few posts back I might as well tell about it.
It´s hard to describe in few words, especially in a foreign language, so please excuse a somewhat long post.
I use FPSC 9, version 1.16018 with Fenix 1.1 and everything has been working just fine for a week or two, or at least that´s how I remember it.
Then I found a thread (http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=162763&b=23) about the command
fpgcrawtext which I wanted to try out.
So, I gave a stock entity (dynamic, physics on) this script (the text is in Swedish and basically, and somewhat ironically when considering what happened next, tells the player to use the right mouse button to lift and drop objects).
;Artificial Intelligence Script
;Header
desc = instruktionhogermusknapp
;Triggers
:state=0:state=1
:state=1,plrdistwithin=50:fpgcrawtext="Höger musknapp för att plocka upp saker och ställa ner dem. Vänster musknapp för att kasta dem", state=2
:state=2:state=2
;End of Script
The message displays correctly, then I lift the cardboardbox and throw it away. But when I walk up to the box again I can no longer lift it. Not with right click and not with T. I can still kick the box around on the floor though.
I close FPSC and run the cleaner, and try again. Just a prefab room with one small cardboard box, this time without the rawtext command (just the standard default.fpi) and the same thing happens. I can lift it the first time, but not put it down, only throw it, and after that I can´t pick it up again. I can however still kick it around on the floor. I´ve tried with different small entities (all dynamic with physics turned on) with the same result.
So, I reinstall the original 1.16018 exe-file, and now I can lift and put down objects like there was no tomorrow.
I install Fenix 1.0 exe, and it works fine then too. But when I try Fenix 1.1 again, I can only, at best, lift one object once.
I´m a little curious as to what could cause this strange behaviour. Could that script really be the cause?
