I got a problem with fenix mod too, when my map grow bigger, i start to have a crash when initialising physics,no error message, just a crash and the standard message ''fps creator as crash ans need to close etc'' someone knows how to fix this ? sometimes, when i reload the same map, its load the map with the dbo and dbu files,and it works,but it work never the first time.

config :

fps creator 1.16
windows seven
amd athlon x2 215
radeon HD 4850 512 mb ddr3
3 gig ram ddr2

I don't know why everybody seems to be having problems using this mod, I installed it the first time and haven't had 1 problem since...

Is there anyway to simulate a bloom like PB one.. (like the illumination maps bloom more than stock ones)

Don't know but I had the prob of fenix not working.
My fix was to place 2 dll files into fpsc folder(might not be your prob, I'm the only 1 so far that has had this problem)
I placed msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll into fpsc directory and all works fine.(i had put this down to my machine)

Even when i build i have to put the dll files in the built game for it to work.Know idea why but who cares if it works.

make sure your FPSC-Game.exe is named properly.

I have windows 7 64 bit directX is upto date
fpsc 1.16 all works ok when i use fenix mod 1.1
i can test build if i use segments if i use prefabs or
anything that needs to call an fpe file it will not build a test
level but gives an error this is with doors, enitys windows, player start marker, etc.
I can build a test level with segments as long there is no
windows, doors, player start marker, or enitys or any thing that calls an .fpe.

I see more and more are having problems with this,
so it's not just you don't know how to install it .

If fpsc 1.16 works without any problem then this should work
why would you have to find and install a .dll if all works
ok without this mod.

Fenix crashes every time while loading test game.
With the .dll files in,it works.
Standard fpsc 1.16 works without them.
I have no idea why but that is the way it is for me.

I don't think anyone will be using mods for a while when 1.17 comes out due to the new features

I never tried the destroy command using Fenix mod, I used it a lot with vanilla. Now it seems that in Fenix, the destroy command makes the object disappear but re-appear right away, and it stays, but doesn't do anything.

I am using 1.15 if that matters, though I hope I won't have to switch to 1.16

Have any insight as to why this might happen? Or if you know of any alternatives to getting dynamic objects to disappear? (I already tried settarget=x + movetotarget, and that doesn't seem to work on bigger entities (tried with a footlocker and a mp3 large box)

Any help at all is much appreciated

I have a slight problem with mine...this could however just be me not using it properly. I am using FPSC 1.09 and created a simple map and placed a character entity in to the map and changed its main script to the third person. However when I try to test the game, it gets so far through the loading and brings up that the program has encountered a problem and closes the program.

How would I go about fixing this and getting it to work?

---EDIT---
Right it would seem it crashes at the exact time when it tries to load the character I set to use the Third Person script.

You need v1.16, v1.09. To my knowledge no mod is developed for v1.09 anymore.

Right I got it to work now finally XD And must say it is a good script, but now I can see the problem I have read about the weapons appearing behind the character. Can it be fixed to make it so the character is holding the weapon?

I can't get the legs to work, I don't understand what script do I add the leg script to and what do i put the script as for the entity?

It doesn't actually matter where it is placed, as long it's not on the start marker.

@Isaac
That is the default error. Unless you provide additional information no one can really help. Also, I'm not sure if Fenix works in the free version.

I got fenix to work first time, you guys are obviously doing something wrong.


I cant help you guys really cause my dads on vacation so i cant get on my windows 7 computer which has it, and i doubt my laptop has the firepower to run fpsc, let alone it ran UDK with 7 fps.

Dw FPSC runs A LOT smoother then UDK

If it lags, change some settings, go for best performance

I just got a new computer (that is 100x better) Only I cant run ANY mods. I've tried reinstalling, and everything, yet it still wont run any mods. (this is in test game) It also wont build.

Any ideas?

FINALLY!!!!!!!

After upgrading my Vista to Windows 7 fenix mod doesnt screw up my graphics anymore. Its still pixelish compared to what I had on my old XP PC (still no idea why - and the screens/vids look a lot better than it does ingame) but finally I can use all the cool commands.

You wont belive but its simple things like crouchon/off or jumpon/off that I love this mod for most.

Ok, i know this is a stupid question, but i really don't know. How do i actually use the flashlight? I can't find any flashlight scripts anywhere in the scriptbank folders except for "Flashlight Enable (Trigger Zone Main Script)" And another one similar except its "Disable" instead of "Enable"... I tried setting the "Enable" as the main for a trigger zone, but nothing happened. I want the flashlight to be on for the entire game, but i can't get it to work.

There is a flashlight script in scriptbank folder
not in the horror mod folder
put it in the Trigger Zone Main.
And then when you walk over the Trigger zone use f to turn on
and f to turn off.

write a script
call it bloom.fpi
anywhere in said script, include the actions- bloom=1, bloompower= (1-4 I think) and bloomscale=(1-4 I think)
save it
place it in a triggerzone.

I actually put 2 in power and 1.5 in scale. it's really atmospheric. bloom sucks though, you'll only get 20 FPS unless you uncap. no building with bloom.

Maybe moving the script from there
but putting the trigger (it wont trigger nothing since it wont be there) when the game its built..you move it to the place where it should be and TATAN Built game with bloom fmod

no... I think it just does this because bloom creates a second camera that devides the 40 fps fram rate... right? there isn't scripting around that.

EDIT: Just apply this script to a trigger zone anywhere in the level.

I tried your script, and since i need extreme bloom, and since Bugsy says he thinks its 1-4, i put 4 in both of the spots with the x's, saved the script, and applied it to the AI Main column of a trigger zone. Nothing happened when i walked into the zone though...

EDIT: Actually, instead of bloom, i have been wanting to invert all the colors in the game while in a trigger zone, and stop when you leave it. Also the effect doesn't happen again if you step into it a second time. Do you know how to do this?
