Thanks! I will contact you vie WLM

************************************

So, I gave the Map another go but I'm still not statisfied.
So, I just drop the design on the outdoor levels for later and work on Level 3 this evening

Anyway, take a look:

I got an idea how I will do the real swamp level later though

I like it but yeah, it could be a little more murky. Changing the skybox would do the trick.

I think personally what make it less attractive for me, is how short the cliffs are. If the cliffs were higher you could probably use mixes of lighting to the bottom of the cliffs - where the player will be - and have some light coming through the branches of the trees, as though it is coming from the top of the cliff. All in all it would give you an excuse to use darker lighting in the swamp giving it less of an Amazonian jungle and more like a dark, murky, swamp. This may seem an extensive job, but I think it might do the trick.

Hope this helps you!

There wont be any cliffs in the new version of this level. I will use cliffs in the forest.

You might note that I will do a lot of levels and that the game will have multiple small episodes.

well...what can you offer?

Yes! I will see if there is a way to swap the skybox for each level.

i could easily make some low poly furniture and scenery, if there is anything special you have in mind a concept would go a long way, only thing is that i am yet to master illumination maps, they just never seem to work, so avoiding lighting fixtures may be wise

Wolf,

I am amazed by your skills.
A few years ago when I came to this engine, I seen some of your work, I cant quite remember what it was.
Even that was magnificent, and you have come a long way.
These levels look simply amazing.

You truly are an inspiration to me, and to many others among this community, I'm sure.

I look forward to playing this game, and reading a few of those tutorials you spoke of earlier on
Great job! keep it up

Doublepost for Screenshots

So yeah I didn't finish as much as I wanted to, but you can see some shots from the forbidden library:

The Swampspider. Vulk has to kill 5 of them to prove himself worthy. I digged out rolfy's old spiderpack

Some Decor I made the Wolfstatue with one of the characters from the Sauerbraten Engine.

Another Swampspider. This screen also shows the Elvensword.

Okay! Comments, critics and ideas are always welcome.

I could also need some opinions on how I should design the HUD's and the interface.

Should it be minimal or dominant...do you want wooden and metal decor and a lot of hints and displaymessages on your screen or should I keep everything small and subtle?

If you know a game where you liked the hud a lot, could you name it please? Some inspiration would surely help

-Wolf

P.S: I seem to become known since I get my first hatermessages via E-Mail

Racing Game in FPSC...I think I would screw that up
Thank you though

***************************

Small Update

I haven't worked much on the levels...so I'm still showing you stuff from the library

Here's whats new:

Quote: "

- Added a lot of new outdoor Models and retextured some more media.
- Collected and Remixed 14 Pieces of Soundtrack
- Finished Health System and a lot of HUD Images
- Finished level 3
- Tested and scripted a lot for the combat

"

The Soundtrack will have a lot of Native American Influences.
There will also be the typical Medival stuff, and of course Ambience for the numerous Dungeons.

Spiders...gotta love 'em

The combat is not perfect... but really cool for FPSC Melee possibilities. This won't be the next Dark Messiah but I'm still proud of it.

The Enemise will also shout at the player.

The player can't really block this attack, but it looks cool on a screenshot

*****************************
Concept Change

So! I decided to give all the swamps and the whole game a new look.
I want the outdoor levels to be a little bit prehistoric. Like in the carbon Timesystem. There are a lot of dinosaurs in videogames, so thats old and not really inspiring
Depending on my future skills and possibilities...I will make a full outdoor episode.I'm also looking for modeling artists that can make decent characters for affordable pricing.

So, I've been working a while on Level 4. I think I did a pretty good job on the Architecture and, to be honest, I'm a bit proud of it.

The Screens dont show really well how huge this room actually is

The Screens do always turn too dark =/ I hope you guys can see the little dragon statue between the higher bookshelves.

UBER BIG NEWS

The Characters in Relict do now have behaviour. Instead of standing around like statues, they do now have conversations, can sit, have gestures while talking to the player, react to the players behaviour and sleep.

I will get you guys some Screenshots of it, as soon as I have anything shaded and textured.

I used to sell skyboxes fitting for this, I had a swamp level in one of the packs and I had a whole pack that was all castles, its a pity I dont still dont distribute them.
On the levels with the trees, the cliff stones could be more overgrown in the texture, moss or something, its a bit too clean. Where are the dead trees from, did you make them?

Yes. Read below

**************************

Update

So! First the big disappointmen: No new screenshots =/ yet.
I'm still lagging a few things in the scenes and there is a lot of stuff that I'm not yet statisfied with.

There where also 2 large maps I made and deleted again because they just didn't look good.

Making a game like this in FPSC isn't easy

But here's what I can tell you:

DEMO:
A 3 Levels Demo could be available within the Next 2 or 3 weeks...depending on the bugs I will experience...

Changes
Quote: "
*Level 1 remapped
*All Character replaced/retextured/shaded
*First fully working dialogue script done
*New textures
*Some minor story changes"

Level 1 is almost completely done and working now, with 13 interactive doors and objects, a lot of dynamic animals and effects like lightrays. 2 fully animated multiple choice dialogues.

Scripting is damn hard for this game...but the possibilities (I hope I spelled that one right) I discover in the FPI Scripting language are amazing me day by day.

small Update

I'm having some problems with my scripts...the sometimes play the wrong animation even though the right one is indicated. I will work around this by replacing the "wrong" animations with the "right" animations for some characters...uuhm...yeah, I guess thats something nobody cares about, thats why I got you guys some screens.

I'm sorry that I don't have more to say after such a long time period and after all the features I announced but there is far too much unfinished business in Level 5 and 6 to show already...so:
**************************

A dark hallway...the videogame innovation of the year 2011...no wait? what?!

The first character the player will be able to talk with...I do not yet have a name for her...I was thinking of Melissa.
She's an Alchemist

A green glowing crystal... what do you mean with "that was obvious"?!

Level 5 Hallway/Cave structure Work in Progress

Yay for Bond1's adaptive Bloom!

Derreck... he's the dystillist of the abbey...just a random char with a short dialogue.

*************************
I've also updated the courtyard:

So...there is a lot of work left to do until I can release the demo.

Please leave some feedback if you drop by

Looking great Wolf. Some more vines creeping up the walls of the courtyard would help break up that texture a bit more. I don't nkow if they were part of a recently released pack but good job on the characters, especially the female.

Are you planning any innovative enemy designs? This game looks like it would be perfect for some large, impressive monsters. With your artistic background and experience with horror, you could make some really demonic looking enemies.
