@s4real: Can this only be applied to the setup.ini of a built game. Im having trouble with building games, so i added to the setup.ini the the fpsc folder and it didnt work. Thx for the help tho

All you should need to add is a pick object command similar to that in AirMod(unless that's already been added). Then you probably can use the existing script commands(settargetname?) to do the rest of what you want to do.

@SC - FYI - I'm experiencing quite a few issues (some of which I think could be solvable my end) but the main one is, when you exit the (built) MP game, it crashes fpsc-game.exe and prompts the error message! There was some other issues but I can't remember them now (was 2 days ago) will test again today and update this post!

1) Upon connecting in MP game, Choose A Character>(Player Name) appears so player has to delete name first then choose a number then press enter, this would get confusing to a lot of people.

2) Mouse3 (Scroll) no longer scrolls weapon, upon spawn you don't spawn with weapon in hand and scrolling with mouse doesn't make weapon slot 1 appear

3) When pressing 'Escape' you get this error:
'System Memory Bitmap Error'
Tried to read a surface which has no read permissions

Application then exits to another error promt:
Runtime Error 500 - Unknown image error at line 45554

To which afterwards you then get the infamous win crash dialog!

I can confirm the mouse issue and will look into it. *FIXED* for next beta

As for the weapon not appearing in hand, does this also happen in vanilla for you? I've just checked WASP using the default Maus rifle and it's appearing for me.

Hmmm.. Not getting the bitmap error, so I'll look into it.

Firstly however, can anyone else confirm this.

Secondly, according to your error message the crash is happening in the savegame preview which we haven't touched. Can anyone say if this is happening for them in WASP, has it happened at all in Vanilla?

SC, I was using a 1 map MP game (built) with x2 reduced texture and lightmapping. When I run the map built with Vanilla it produces the initial weapon at spawn, however with WASP no weapon is in hand at spawn. Have to trigger it with 1 key instead of mouse scroll, which is fine as long as mouse scroll will work too.

The final crash is when you press 'Escape' in the MP game. Usually you get the usual 'Resume' 'Exit' etc. just this crash... I havent looked at the root folders so will do in the next half hour to see that all the huds etc have been built too.

Also when I build a game, I have to manually add the databank folder

Here is the error message that comes up without adding the databank folder. It hapens after the game loads.


Runtime Error 506-Could not load image at line 60419
CWD:C\Program Files(x86)\The Game Creators\Fps
Creator\MyGames\simpleareana\Files
LOAD IMAGE databank\marker.png666668,0,0

None of these errors happened using Vanilla,only Wasp.

EDIT All of these errors occurin both MP and SP except the gun not showing up. That only happened to me in MP,

Vanilla doesn't have a databank folder. I hope that explains the issue

I think that would be a good idea. I mean its not hard at all to copy the databank over, but it would be more convenient. But this isnt really important. When it come downs to I'd much rather you guys focus on features and stability.

I found a strange bug:

When I use a Dante model in my game and kill it then the death animation won't complete.
I think one part can't complete.
I came back to FPSC vanilla and it was okay.

Have our guns was a mistake!!!

UPDATE- I can confirm this.. That's really odd, I'll see if I can work our what's happening here

I think I've found another bug. when i try to take a screen shot (using F12) the game freezes before crashing. I tested the same map, same location for the shot using vanilla and all works well.

Some of the custom Animations are crashing for me in both.. Maybe it's a cleaner issue.

On a built game, when you use different buttons then stock, you get an error when loading the in game menu.

update :- I've been working on wasp the past few days and all tonight fixing bugs and speeding the engine up a bit as well as scene working on it during the day.

The private build is pretty stable now but there a few fixes still to be done so keep with us.

Weapon not appearing at first in MP is now fixed.

Appearhidehead.fpi won't work now anyway, as the scaling format has changed. It's best to completely replace the scriptbank folder for current builds.

However, I can confirm that certain models are having issues scaling/hiding head limbs. This is due to models being required to maintain a certain level of 'size consistancy' for collision boxes. I am however looking for a work around for all models.

Sorry, cameras won't be going into this build of WASP.

I can also report that we've managed to squeeze a few more FPS out of the engine with some tweaks and hopefully smoothed a few other things out.

This is the last call for any bug reports for this build, so if you've any other issues to report, please do so.

You're doing some excellent work on this SC, I really think this mod should become compulsory for all FPSC users!!
