My son Toby was born at 6:47am... I'm very proud. Also very tired having been up for over 30 hours on shortbread and a couple of egg sandwiches.

Off to bed. Website looks awesome guys!!! Excellent work

If it's still on the AppUp store and you're still supporting it then we'd be happy to create an article about it on the Baxspace website.

"

I believe it still is but its very outdated and i didnt have a netbook any more to see if the latest versions runs on it well or not.

It however runs well on vista and xp but does crash on seven if the image memory disapears.....oddly doesnt crash before that.

I think if it came down to it id write a version of it using agk as the latest qmidistudio uses wav files for instrument play back to sound its best.

I'm still working on Cannonball when I get time but I also have another project I'm working on. It's physics based (surprise surprise) but I can't really go into too much detail, mainly because I haven't completely decided how it will play.

Things have been pretty quiet around here, it would be nice to hear what people are working on.

Anyone care to share? I'm low on content for newsletter articles next month...

Sorry for the late response, Steve, but congrats!
Now, don't forget to teach the little todler how to program, right? We expect him to be programming games by age 5.

Thanks Slayer!

Give the tyke a chance, he's only a week old... he's compiled a "Hello World!" in AppGameKit already though. I might have helped him to press the right key a little

I've only just realised that I have a near complete app that I could submit to the AppUp Store! I now also have 5 broken toes and a large hole in my bedroom wall. Where's that advertising code/guide gone?

There's more than one? A good example would be the ads in BatVink's "Pile 'em up".

Define joking (in other words, yep).

It's a basic maths practice app. Right now the difficulty is fixed but I'll add some options to vary it.

I've kept my promise baxslash, I had a go at Leg it! It's a very nice way of taking a break from studying Linear Algebra. Got a score of 1728!

@Funnel7: Congratz mate! Feel free to sign up to http://baxspace.com and write an article for it. If you decide to write an article, you'll have to save it in an unpublished status but just email me once you have saved it (save it anywhere you like) and I'll publish it.

I'm off on holiday for a week. I may drop in now and again if I find a cafe with Wi-Fi but otherwise keep an eye on the place for me and don't answer the door to any strange men.

Don't get much wildlife where I'm going... I'll be sitting on a beach in Devon if it's warm enough. If not I'll be sitting in a pub

Maybe a whale?

Will the pub deliver a pint to the beach?

It's been way too long since I've enjoyed a good beer (or Scrumpy Jack) in England. There's this great 14th century inn in Whitney-on-Wye - the Rhydspence. Great rooms, great food and hanging out in the pub was great fun. I just discovered that the Rhydspence is even listed in wikipedia!

I'm now considering changing my name to something less ambiguous. I'm afraid it's not so easy for me to get there considering I'm at least 5000 miles away.

There is a new community competition started by kamac and myself for AppGameKit here:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=196531&b=36

The prize is to have your winning entry published by TGC to iOS and Android (possibly more later).

I thought I'd share some ancient wisdom... re-hashed a little:

1. All code has its beauty but not everyone sees it

2. Ignorance of the right code is the night of the mind, but a night without moon and star

3. It does not matter how slowly you code so long as you do not stop

4. Our greatest glory is not in never coding badly, but in correcting every time we do

5. The superior man seeks code in himself; The small man seeks code from others

6. I am not one who was born in the possession of knowledge; I am one who is fond of code, and earnest in seeking it there

7. Code without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous

8. The cautious seldom syntax err

9. The superior man is modest in his forum posts, but exceeds in his code

10. To go beyond what is necessary to code is as wrong as to fall short

Very nice baxslash!

I used to sport one of Albert Einstein's quotes in my signature before I began using the ADG sig. It went something like this:

Quote: "A clever person solves a problem, a wise person avoids it"

I'm rarely a wise person. Oh why did I decide to take up programming as a hobby?

To mark the second anniversary of the App Developers Group I have a...

COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT
New Beginnings
With the New Year approaching and all of the new ways we are now able to create games and create content for games I thought it would be nice to have a competition about "New beginnings"!

This is a totally open competition to anyone who has a creative side. You can enter with; Game art (2D or 3D), Music / Sound FX, a Game or App! If you have an idea for something not listed here then just ask me if it's eligible for entry and I'll let you know.

I don't want to stifle any creativity which is why I have made the brief so open. Just try to base your entry on the subject title.

Your entries will be judged mainly on their creativity and originality, not technical expertise (although clearly this will be taken into consideration). I won't be asking for code this time if your entry is a game or app.

Please only enter with your own ORIGINAL WORK!! Anyone found using another person's content will be kicked out of the competition. Use of the odd function or shared functions will not be possible to check but the work you submit will be considered for originality.

Prizes
As with the last competition we will do our best to provide something tasty for the winner/s. At this point in time we will be announcing 3 winners at the end, 1st / 2nd and 3rd place.

Winners will be eligible for relevant forum badges at the very least!

Please post any questions here for now or email me.
