Yep, just got my confirmation too.

Seriously?? So you mean there are 185 ultrabooks that nobody bothered to claim just gathering dust in some Intel lab somewhere? Well at least we managed to find good homes for some of them .

No, as I recall there were over 700 original entries, of which 300 were selected and shipped Ultrabooks. But, only a small fraction actually managed to complete their project on time and get it on the AppUp store, 115 total. So, over half of those who received free Ultrabooks did not complete their proposed app.

A testament to AppGameKit that so many of us have got Ultrabooks and are in the 15% of people who got through! I know there have been a few difficulties but I wonder how many of us got through? AppGameKit users probably make up about 10% of the finalists.

I think we've all done pretty well and I'd personally like to thank Lee for helping me win an Ultrabook I would love it if an AppGameKit user won one of the main prizes!

there were a lot of people who thought that they could get a free ultrabook by doing a sub-standard app.

they did not consider that they had to go through the appup sifter first.

those 180+ who did not make it by the deadline or their app was rejected for poor quality have a few months' time to do something decent, else they will have to return their ultrabook

Anyone know where it says the deadline for getting your apps in before Intel have the right to reclaim the laptop? Just curious really

@ The Zoq2

Did you send your app proof of acceptance details to contest@codeproject.com

It's very easy to miss that on the main page of the contest.

apocolyp4: I can't find anywhere that says the app must be completed within 6 months, if you have a reference please let me know. Thanks though.

Congrats to everyone who got the app in on time, it's great to see AppGameKit off to such a great start!

Does anyone know what control the developer has over their applications once they are released to the store? I want to put up a pre-alpha temporarily, I'm wondering if I could just take it down then in a month or two?

You can release a "demo" version to start with and only give it two months life on the store but you will have to use a different name (even if it's just slightly different) when you create the new application. Alternatively you can just release a new version by uploading a new installer and then changing the price from free to paid.

Congrats all! I had no hope considering I submitted my app literally on the deadline and then it got rejected right before Dec. 1st.

AGK really did make things easier for this competition once the sensor features were implemented. A friend of mine was trying to submit an app without it and couldn't make heads or tails out of the Ultrabook SDK or docs on how to tap into their sensors. Lee and team did well at making it easy for us, and I'm just glad I have an Ultrabook out of it.

Make that 8 winners from AppGameKit and add me to the list. My app Block Ooo just won me a cool $1000!. Thanks so much to this forum, the TGC team, and their fantastic product - AGK. I'm so happy right now
Gl to everyone in the final judging, I sincerely hope someone from AppGameKit wins a category or grand prize.

When will they announce the grand winners now?
I am very curious to see who wins!

I am seeing a lot of Windows8 contests these days.

I think TGC should think about a strategy of doing a win8 version of AppGameKit since we are missing on some great contests!

Well... I didn't win $1000, but I did get an email from intel today letting me know that my app was finally approved.

Now I just need this accelerometer to work and to have ads not crash my game.. then I can do a resubmit and maybe get something for this game.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=202205&b=48&p=0

Congratulations once again to everyone who entered and were successful at getting their app in through all the hurdles. AppGameKit had a strong turn-out for this competition I think.
