yes, it makes perfect sense! glad you added that detail instead of just letting the character magically walk through a solid object

those slave dudes look cool! (well, the freeing animation/thingy looks cool )

Thanks guys!

If you liked the intro film, you'll be pleased to know that the full game includes 3 more film sequences of similar length as you progress through the main game. The full game has just over 10 minutes of film sequence - that's good value for money, if you ask me

Today marks 11 months, exactly, in development!

That's the plan Peter_. I think October 31st is a bit unrealistic, but November 13th is almost certainly achievable. I mean, the screenshots above are from the last level - I'm almost there!

Thankyou Not Young Programmer! I've checked out Squirrel Wars but the hosting you've got sucks so I can't download it! If you'd email it to me at drewcameron@ddrw.com then I could host it on a fast server for you?

Quote: "Very nice.
Is it the toxic barrels that are blowing up?"

Yeah - if a Stude bullet hits them, they blow. If Dumbo or Cool are nearby, they catch flame too.

Quote: "Looking really really great Drew. This game is really screaming of great polish."

Thanks Mike! Are you still up for testing? I'd like to send you a new version to test by the end of next week if you're available - but this time I'd need a reply prompto so I can get right back to fixing problems highlighted

(Aside)

Things done in game:

- Introduction film
- Level 1: sunny
- Level 2: icy
- Level 3: battlefield
- Level 4: train top ride
- Level 5: factory
- Puzzles 1-6

To do

- Train catch film
- Level 5 film
- Level 6
- Ending film
- Puzzles 7-12

So, I'm almost there - just alot of film creation and 1 more real level. I'm also considering a level editor so users can create their own time attack levels, but this would add more than a month to dev time, me thinks, and I'd like to get it out for Christmas time for sales reasons.

Back to work!

5 level build + 6 puzzle levels, 26mb. Is that okay?
(It will take you 1-2 hours to play through it all, by the way)

If not, I dont' mean to impose a big job on you.

The reason I had it hosted was because it is more than 10 mb... I'll see what I can do.

Dumbo and Cool looks awesome, again. There's so much detail!
Too bad it's getting pushed back to November 13.

O_O

Woah... I remember when you were ridiculed for this! I think you had only worked on it for a month or two, and it was pretty bad, and you were asking about the voices that you paid for!

We were all shocked that you paid for them (because you were hardly along)!

Now I see it wasn't a bad investment! Looks fantastic. Great job!!!

Sweet level design in those new screens!

EDIT: What are the odds of a future level editor to let us make custom maps?

I don't think you'll be getting a level editor, an account of the fact alot of stuff is hard coded.

There are plans for a puzzle editor, where you can create your own levels against the clock, but it will be fairly limited in what it can do.

And, the progress list has been updated. As it now stands:

Things done in game:

- Introduction film
- Level 1: sunny
- Level 2: icy
- Level 3: battlefield
- Level 4: train top ride
- Level 5: factory
- Puzzles 1-6
- Level 5 film (NEW!)

To do

- Train catch film
- Level 6: factory 2
- Ending film
- Puzzles 7-12

As you might be able to tell, it's very nearly done.

Well, not quite a batch of screenshots, but another film from later on in the game.

FILM NAME: Dumbo & Cool arrive at Oil Rig
URL: http://www.drewsgames.com/level5.wmv
SIZE, FORMAT, DURATION: 1.5mb, WMV, 1:00

And that's it. No more updates until launch, thankyou everyone for your help. The download above be taken down in a couple of days because I shouldn't be giving films from the rest of the game away!

i like it when the little dude goes "aaaahhh..." (after the dude tells him to keep working or something like that)

[edit] did you use the cloth expansion pack for the king lecture's cape? or is it "just" an animation
