@TEH_CODERER: Rest of the World...
@The Full Metal Coder Roxas: It's already in the video... It's similar to how Armored Core series customization works... U/D to choose category, L/R to change part. The radar looking chart shows how heavy, strong in attack, and strong in gunshot the weapon is. And yes, FFVII AC is one of my inspiration for this game!

I still have to get some videos of her other magics and w/o the graphics though. And probably a part of the "almost finished" opening scenematic...

I think you've got a shot at the prize! Looks great!

Edit:

Actually you've got a very high chance of winning. Just watched the customization video and it looks great.

@Sven B: Wow, very nice! But I can't use it for the game cuz it has a different genre... Sorry... But if you have/can do something more industrial or gothic or orhestra (either of them), that will be nice...

@Irradic: Mabuhay rin po. And thanks!

Gothic - orchestra? That's the style of "Within Temptation" or "Evanescence", right?

That's really amazing. I mean, really amazing. My only complaint is the boxy levels, which don't seem to do the amazing everything else justice.

@Sven B: I don't know any of them... But maybe more like Devil May Cry 3 or Chaos legion... Btw, either it's action or ambient, it's also up to you too...
@Bizar Guy: Yes, cuz I already know since last 3 months that I will lack time on making this game... So this lessens my time and effort!

13 Screenshots to show! (They're in 1024x768, so they're in links, and I added a little watermark on them...)

those shader effects are impressive (the black edge one looks pretty snazzy)

looks very polished, and the only thing i saw that was a little painful on the eyes was the boxy level.

Nice cinematics. It's really hard to believe this is all by one person, in such a short period of time.

How do you get that grainy effect? It looks really good. On is it a combination of effects...?

I wouldn't go so far to say this is one of the clear winners for 1st, but it's definitely one of the best looking entrees so far (if not the best), and defenitly the most polished at the moment. Only a small few others seem to compete with it right now. If this doesn't win something...

The more I look at this the more I think 'WOW'. And the more I wonder, have you heard of the 360 title Bullet Witch? Because there are a lot of similarities between this and it.

@Cian Rice: Yes, it's already in my "to buy soon when I get an XBox 360" list... I wish I could make a game as good and as pretty as that... Sigh...

If i'm gonna make another video, which do you want me to capture:
-Black/White edge
-Partial Opening scenematic
-Partial 1st Meeting Scenematic
-Magics (Ice, Thunder, Heal, Fire, Stop)

I'm currently working on the SFX and options menu...

Great looking game mate!

Good concepts, amazing programming. Although mentioned before the 'Q' button camera movement is a little annoying. Wondering what was the reason for it? Hehe, cuz my finger cant bare twisting. I dunno to me it just feels like I need to press both 'E' and 'P' just to move forward...I cant do it man....

FOR BETTER DEMO GAME PLAY:

1.Take any type of key or coin
2. Jam it between the 'TAB'and 'Q' keys
3. Make sure 'Q' button remains held down.

Hehehe...

Ah, don't worry... I've changed that... You can only rotate the camera when the menu is opened. In that way, the gameplay will not be interfered since when the menu is opened, eveything will pause... Unusual, but IMO, it's the only way to make the camera rotation better...

Is it? I just say so because I spent half my time during the demo holding down the camera key, even when running. maybe you could map it to the shift key, which the pinkie is already hanging over...

I can't chose which I want to see... I wanna see all of them!

Hmm... I guess I'd like to see both the black and white edges, as well as the magics. Those could easily be put in one vid, I'd think.

Aw daaaaam. dat's da shiz right there son.

Seriously, graphics are like A+++. And if the controls feel as intuitive now as they are awesome, well... I'd put that shiny new pc in you lap right now. The only three things I see that could possibly keep you from getting first place are the boxy levels, if the gameplay ends up feeling underwhelming (I don't think it will be, seeing as how awesome the gameplay looks, but this is the most likely reason you might not win 1st), or someone else in ROW comes in with Mario Galaxy gameplay and Gears of War graphics.

But I honestly don't think your score would drop even if this had been started before the compo...

Ok, now that I showered you with praise, get back to work!

Mike I just wanted to say how fine your work is. I'm sort of getting into play testing late, but I just wanted to say that I don't think the frame rates I'm seeing are being represented correctly.

My Sys Specs:
XP Pro SP2
Dual Intel Xeon 3.2
Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT 256 AGP (latest drivers)
2 G Ram

I see others with lower specs and they are running at higher frame rates. But when I'm playing the game I get the highest 17 fps. Which would not be playable, but it is, and stays smooth. I still feel like I can play although it is moving just a little slow, but smooth nevertheless.

It feels like ~20 frames but the system is reporting less. I know dual machines have varying results, that is why I set the affinity to one processor which did get the rate up to 20 more consistently. I'm going to try my AMD 2800+ with a FX 5600 card and 1 G of Ram and see what happens with that. Maybe my fps would increase with a full screen. This system never did meet fully my gaming desires. I built it mainly for content creation, runs max and other things just fine. ::shrugg::

Awesome work. I hope you win, and I hope you finish the full game some day.

Cheers

17 FPS will always be smooth, the rates that the human eye catches at that will be smooth is 15-60 FPS, so between those you'll have a smooth running game. I get 10-30 FPS on my low spec playing Doom 3, when it's at 10 or when it has a massive lag, it is still playable just a little frustrating, , but I've killed plenty of Hellish monsters on there just fine.

When I did try the demo, it was very smooth.

I'm about to upload the boss battle video, but our place suddenly lost electricity... Darn...

@Junkrock: I do have a next project. It's already in the planning stage and i'm looking forward to have you as my music composer. But there are some things that you might not like and I can't tell it in public... (heheheh...)

@Mr Anderson: With effects, it's really slow... I tried playing it without effects and they're pretty fast in my computer... Getting an average of 60 FPS... Although I don't know if my game today will be fast in other computers... But I think the judges have SLIs and some badass GPUs...

@Seppuku Arts: Thanks for the support! And in my opinion, massive lag is pretty common in PC gaming... That's why consoles are part in our gaming life!

Currently working on: Inventory... I'll go back to Alletine soon... I gotta finish everything first... Stupid deadline..... Man i'm mouthful today!
