Not all of the textures in the top image are from the ww2 set. The road and the red/white wood aren't.

I bet Alec would send those two if you bought it and emailed him and asked nicely, though.

FXTC, nice use of brush geometry. That is about as high-detail as you can get, using brushes. In the future, map meshes will further increase the detail level beyond even that.

I've noticed that the non-lightmapped meshes in CShop4 look kind of bad. Having pre-calculated lightmaps in the meshes, along with proper normals, makes a huge difference, and makes them look like they belong, instead of being odd-looking 3ds max geometry.

I was also playing with some irregularly-sized meshes, and notioced how hard it was to get them to the size I wanted, so they would fit in the map right. CS5 is much easier, in that respect.

I'm not sure why, but it reminds me of the human city from the first Soul Reaver. Really awesome mapping, textures, and light-work. Hope to see more .

The trim piece on the ground really needs a static lightmap. The big round turbine-looking thing has one, and it makes the geometry look like it has much more depth. I'll add one so that the little pegs are casting a shadow on the base.

Now this is pretty good. I made this in just a couple of minutes, using the arch mesh, and a new arch primitive I just wrote.

That's pretty awesome that you can make stuff like this in like 2 minutes:

Here we go. This is the kind of things everyone here will be able to easily build, in just a few minutes. The quality of this stuff is amazing.

It takes a fair amount of time to caculate lightmap on cshop 4 with
a medium sized map(between 1000 and 2000 polys),I can only imagine
how long it would take to lightmap a level with the detail your
providing in your screenshot Josh.
Two minutes just to make that kind of geometry, as Mr. burns would say "Excellent".
