Some great looking maps being made (FXTC in particular, can't freakin' wait to see your full project).

I bought leadwerks texture packs, and made some preview maps.

Here's one:

You know what would look cool is if you used the masked floor textures and put a bunch of pipes and stuff underneath them.

EFX: Why no texture suggestions on the private forum?

Koolaid: They are on leadwerks.com If you like what you see and have a bit of cash then you might want to look into the subcription service.
the biggest benafit of being a subscriber is that you get to direct what I do. Sort of like renting an artist.

Here's another shot with some pipes and underlaying red glow:

That's always a good technique.

Take a look at the UnrealEd tutorials I posted, especially the one on architecture. It has some good tips.

Some clever design there. The "usefulness" of the architecture has improved a lot. It looks like there is more of a logic behind the design.

JoshK: Yeah, I'm making the maps with a purpose now. Those first few were to just test out the new textures and play around with lightmapping them.

Looking good EFX. I think the pipes bit would look better if it was all lit less and if the pipes were dark grey or black.

AlecM: I just tried that out, but it made the pipes and the underlying scenery imperceptable through the grate. I relit it again, and it looked a little better. The original lighting I had used seemed natural enough for the scene and allowed the lower half to be seen better, though the pipes were too white.

Here's an updated view:

Here's under the pipes. I had an issue with making the actual screenshot, because, when I "rendered to file", it really blurred and lowered the quality of the red light. I fixed it by taking the shot from the actual editor.

Here's an antenna-array for a Visual Demonstration I'm trying to make (having issues with advanced terrain in DBPro). This was built entirely in CShop, no prebuild in 3DS Max or anything like that. 1st shot:

With great effort. J/K

I take the views and I make the scaling of the grid really small, and put together all the different primitives to make more complex shapes. Like the Antenna for instance, it's just a bunch of boxes and a few cylinders put together to look like that.

I also deleted all the faces that you weren't supposed to see.

Here's another one done the same way, even though it's only an in progress pic:

Hi

Me and The Nerd is currently working on this map, and thought we would show it to you.
It's supposed to look like some kind of spacestation. We might turn this into a game if we find a good storyline.

Here's some screens:

Here's a set of four pics. I've been experimenting with different lighting ideas:

Yes, but I don't use it all that often. It's too complicated. CShop is the simplest 3D editor I've ever used (even more so than the lvl editor for Duke Nukem 3D), and it's just so fun to use.

I agree Cshop does have a way easier user interface and is geared towards level design specifically. I cant' wait to version 5 comes out.

Just experimenting in lvl design and lighting.

Here's the same hallway scene as the last pic in my post above. But this time, I tool the wall texture and modeled it out and just used a plain base texture, the same with the floor. I also made two more lights to see them overlap: (this took over 2 hours to render the lightmaps)

You should model those walls in 3ds max and use them as a staticmesh in beta 5.

This is some pics from a dungeon-like scene I'm working on.
I don't know what I'm going to use it for, but I just bought CShop, and I can't let go of it again

This scene might not be THAT great, but it is whatsoever the first real thing I've made in CShop.

The quality of theese pics is not that great... Try to ignore that.
And the textures might seem a bit boring, but since limefly.net is down at the moment, I don't know where I should get my textures from
