This time, I'M GONNA JOIN!!! (Last time, I didn't join the alienware comp because we have a client... Unfortunately he happens to be a thief... I'm not gonna forget that in my whole entire life!)
Although I have a question...
Is the rules final? If it is, are there any limits in violence and/or adult content?

Hey dude, glad to see ya enter, from your low poly 3D works, I can imagine a good looking project, but do you have any details to what you're doing?

Browsing from my project folders, I don't know which one will I continue... But I might go with the "Tower" project...

It's where you'll have to go to the top of the tower... That's all I can say...
I'm quite nervous, since I never finished a game in my life... I'm even cancelling my "Orb" project for this!

Ditto, but as long as you have the knowledge to complete it, I wouldn't worry mate.

Good luck mate

Hi,
I had some problems in using the shadow shading... So far, these are the commands that I used that affects the BG:

And this is the result:

Some sparkly shadows if viewed far away...
And if anyone noticed, there are some shadows far away overlapping the hair... (I used shadows for the hair btw... only the hair)

I've searched in the forum and what I only know is that it's a "Z-clashing" issue... If i'm gonna use the .fx, Could anyone tell me how?

Edit: Holy crap it worked. I changed the values on the .fx file and everything looks fine! I also just found out that shadows renders over objects with transparency and/or disable zwrite...

Hi... I just thought that i'm taking waaaay too long not to show at least one screenshot... So here it is:

Im not yet finished baking all the textures though... (Cuz most of them are in 2048x2048)
And the main character:

She's still not complete... And the dirt is only in the beginning part of the game...

The genre will be horror, but the gameplay will be action with puzzles...
Here's the idea of the story:
You're a hamster of a scientist who's trying to make a strong man/woman... He can see everything you do and he will always dictate you to what he wants to see or to test from you...

I kinda have no time to do my own project for now cuz i'm working on Junkrock's model...
In the mean time, i'll post some of my concept art that might be added in the game:

3rd and 4th pictures are sure to be added, the others are not sure...

Your drawing looks like mine.. I like to draw fast... When i draw slow i make always some mistakes.. Anyways looks good.. And if you dont finish this after the deadline i sure still watching this project coming alon if you continue it.. i just format my computer and i lost all my dbpro projects.. I was making Open Source FPS (mp and sp), Messenger, Dark Ocean (im working hard on recompleting this.. with better name.. And story is coming along), Stunt Racing, Gladiator mini-game, Zelda:WW Treasures mini-game and etc.. There was lot of projects.. Well.. now i finish only single project so you see faster the new screenshot updates and etc.. Oh and one thing.. Could you give some screenshot of characters? or do you have them yet ?

@The Full Metal Coder Roxas: Format and lost all dbpro projects??? I know that feeling... I even lost all 3d models I made... Anyway, about the characters... There would be alot of change in plans...

@Everyone:
I'm confused alot... Because right now it's already my 6th gameplay and I never stop thinking another one... AND I'LL NEVER FINISH ANYTHING!!! So I would like to know the opinion of everyone who's interested on which gameplay would you like from the 6 I thought..... It would be a poll btw...

1. Fast paced action similar to DMC3. The feature there is you can obtain at least one ability or move from an enemy (similar to Musashi)

2. Also Fast paced action but with "forms" where the main character changes form that mimics the the enemy (similar to Rue from Threads of Fate)

3. 3 main characters where you have to manage all of them. You can switch players you want to control by pressing a button. If one of them dies, it's game over.

4. The main characters have 2 form, the normal and the shadow, same with the enemies. Normal enemies can only be attacked by shadow and shadow enemies can only be attacked by normal. So you have to change forms most of the time.

5. (CANCEL) Not action anymore. A horror style game where you'll have to escape from the tower from top to bottom. Silent hill style.

6. (CANCEL) Fast paced action with horror environment where you get "enhancements" from the scientist who dictates you on what to do.

Tell me which of them you like. Don't worry about my progress, I could always start a new model or BG.

If no one is interested on voting any of them, i'll then have a project where i'm "really" good at instead. (Even if i'll waste one music, I don't care!)

I like the idea of three characters, although when they lose all their health, they should become unconscious, and you switch to another player. If you can't save them in time or something (like their vital signs beginning to fail unless you reach them, or the thing that hurt them delivers a final blow), then they die. That way, you wont feel like you got gypped because one of your characters died before you could do anything about it.

I also like the normal and shadow from idea, however I think it would be tedious to have to switch forms every time you wanted to attack. But if it would mean you were safe as long as you were the same type as the enemy, that would be interesting, and if you take the idea one step further and make it so the shadow character can do things the normal form can't and visa versa, that would be the idea to go with.
Hmm... maybe if you're part of the experiment by the scientist you mentioned and the experiment has something to do with shadow forms...

6.) = CANCEL

Thanks. Actually, there are more info than what I wrote above... They're the basics... But thanks for the ideas though...
Btw, i'll cancel both 5 and 6 because I almost forgot that i'll do something in the graphics that won't fit in the horror category... I'll edit the post...

Well, I won't still be modeling them... Only design... I'll see first on what are the votes for me to finalize the genre of the game.

is that hand drawn or psp?

Anyways, looks really, really, nice.

btw, if you're making the game and you want to do one, why is there still a vote??

I'd be fine with whatever you decided. After all, you'll do the best doing what you want to.

Nice concept you have going there for the enemy. I've always liked the Zoe design for mech-legs.. seems you have something quite similar going for yours which fits nicely. Here is an idea though.. instead of having the very static movement of the slashing, perhaps you could make the blade something like Isabella "Ivy" Valentine's whip blade in Soul Calibur. I'll find you an example if you don't know which I'm referring to. That way you could animate some smooth rotations and whip movements with the hip/pelvis of the creature. Just an idea though of course.

@Jonny Ree: I would probably stick with the static sword... I lack experience in programming, so I would prefer doing something that i'm good at... (To lessen experiments)

Btw, she would probably be anime based... More on the action figure style of model/shading instead of realistic... I'm currently modelling her... And experimenting Zbrush 2 for normal maps...

That's so beautiful its not even funny. You win. I know it. I guess my only hopes to win are that you accidently re-format your comptuer

Hehe, I wouldn't want that to happen, this is looking so cool.

That is pretty good effects in DBP, do you know what mate, I think you should move to America, I here its a good place to visit for the Winter, go snowboarding with Junkrock. Plus you don't fall in the rest of world category, meaning some of us can do a half arsed job of it Good effect is it just an image billboarded onto a plain you're using or does it have pixel based refraction as well? Can't see clearly enough, if not then I've probably just suggested something

Good luck, graphically its looking cool, hope to see more of your gameplay side to skills.
