Anyone that reads this will know that you were talking to me. I made a polite request and you got angry and tried your hardest to be mean. I will let you tell others what kind of person your are by what you say. What people say and how they say it is a testament to their true nature.

DarkFact is working hard to make something that we can all use and is needed badly. I appreciate his hard work and so do others. Im sure that any mature person would not want to see this thread locked just because they felt the need to strike out at someone. I have not been rude and do not feel the need to strike out at Candle_ or anyone. Please notice that there are no insults or anything of a personal nature in this post.

DarkFact, I hope this thread stays active.

Rock on DarkFact you the man!!

@DarkFact,

v1.0.4.0 runs good except one thing. When I load a saved game alot of the Dynamic entities are topsy_turvy. Some are backwards, upside down or on their sides.

See screenie

@Incense: Phoenix only launches your game via a process command, it doesn't run your game in any way. If your entities or anything else is off in the game, then it's the game doing it. Dynamic entities being turned around, floating, etc. have been a known issue since the save/load system was introduced.

I don't see a screenie, btw.

Screenie is there now. I forgot to attach it before. My bad.

Bummer about the save load system. I just never saw anything happen like this before. I must have just been really lucky.

Oh well.

Phoenix gave me no issues at all. I will have to test it with winamp running and let you know how that goes. Im sure that it will run fine though.

DarkFact, 1.0.4 works flawless for me. Saved games=no problem.
I sent you an Email I'll wait for your response. Oh, I still had to build my game under the name- engine. I still can't just rename an existing built games .exe. For me thats still my only problem.

@Airslide and Anovella: I have a few code functions to implement yet, but you're both on the list for testing.

@Sly: You have the Standard version. I will give you a copy of the final Pro version, too.

I'm taking a satellite tech course for work for the next few months and my wife returned from Germany, so my free time is at a premium right now. I should have the Pro version ready for testing in a day or so. Thanks to all for your compliments, suggestions and support.

Phoenix's licensing system is designed to be flexible for the developer. You can create unique or shared keys and "retire" either type whenever you choose. You can create the keys at any time before or after packaging a game with Phoenix. You don't have to do it at the same time you're packaging a game.

When you create an "online validation" package with Phoenix, you can create one shared key for it or one million; it's up to you. If you feel a certain shared key has been abused, you can simply retire it. Existing users will not be able to re-register with their existing key, but you can issue them a new one if you trust them. You should cover this in your license agreement.

I highly suggest using a buyer's email address for the offline keys, but you can use any unique info for it that you wish, eg. their Last Name, First Name. Using their email address is best IMO because they may "loan" their key to a buddy or two, but probably won't post their email address on a pirate site or usenet.

Pricing is, of course, up to you. My thoughts are to make tiered pricing based on registration security options. For example, the cheapest price would be for online registration and a bit more money for an offline version. The incentive of the lower price will get more people to opt for online registrations, thus giving you more security. Just a thought though. This is how I'd do it.

I hope this answered your question.

@MK83: Thanks man, I sent you an email a couple hours ago when I got a break in class.

I'm pretty much finished with implementing all the features that I wanted in Phoenix. Here's the current interface. Notice that you can now rename your game exe from within Phoenix instead of having to open the actual game folder. If you're processing your game and forgot to rename it, Phoenix will automatically open the Rename Exe dialogue and allow you to rename the game exe without exiting Phoenix.

@all: Thanks again, guys.

Update: Added the ability to have up to 3 video files play in succession before game start. Also added ability to add backgound sound. These options are governed with an ini file, so you don't have to rename your multimedia files.

That's not a runtime error, just an unhandled exception. This has already been fixed in the current version.

Thanks for the help, but please don't post detailed beta info in the forums. Thanks
