Jon, You took my idea for Tristan Craft and the Lost City models! Almost every one of these are things that I wanted to be put in. Especially the drawing you made entitled "Scorch". I really can't wait for these to come into fruition as a pack, because I'm definately buying!

Hey Jon you are a really good 3d modeler, I’m just curious what is the average resolution size of your textures?

My compliments the models are all wonderful.
I would like to use them with Virtools DEV, but I am not sure if their 3D format is compatible with it. Are they available for 3DS MAX so that I can export from there to Virtools?

Any idea when and where will they be available?

Thanks

i, am ALIVE

here goes:

Quote: "I hope this pack has a bow crossbow and a weapon arm (spell casting arm would be nice as well), model pack 17 does not have a melee weapon, bit of a daft oversight, so Im passing on that one, hopefully this one will fill the gap instead."

pack 2 (weapons) will have a bow and crossbow, with weapon arms, as well as spell casting (a variety of different sorts) you can read what will be included by opening the code-box for pack 2 on page 1

@ Alucard94

thanks

Quote: "But you know , you could let some parts of that tumor glow maybe a orange color. It may look like the zombie is cursed or poised inside and that makes him a life !"

possible, as one of the texture variations

Quote: "I think the zombie would benefit from having actual geometry for the toes... the normal/specular mapping help but I dont think it quite pulls it off....

Also you use zBrush, right? Why not Mudbox?"

nah, there's hardly much room between toes (when fully apart) to make it worth adding more polygons, plus this opens up a basic shoe re-texture possibility

why not mudbox? well, i had Zbrush before mudbox was released (i think) or at least it was in beta. I've tried out mudbox, its a brilliant piece of software which is so much simpler to just drop into rather than zbrush, and is nice to have a normal 3d viewport.

but im pretty used to zbrush now, and version 3 (and some nifty upgrades in 3.1) has some fantastic features that you cant turn down.

@ fallen one

i am, the lizard man/geezer/chap. not quite finished yet, but i knew i wanted to do a reptile type character from the very start, always like the patterns on lizards and stuff and wanted to try my own take on one.

Quote: ""EMO"
Lol. Good luck with dominance war 3! I was going to enter, but I'm not yet good enough. Hopefully, I'll be around for Dominance War 4. Glad to see that you're still working on this, Jon."

thanks, unfortunately i didn't make the deadline this year around, but its still a very nice portfolio piece to finish I'll post it when its finished.

Quote: "It looks quite good, although the guts look too neatly placed if you know what im saying "

kind of, but its best to keep its actual pattern, to prevent the model from actually looking messy rather than the character itself

Quote: "Will enimies beable to use melee weapons?"

they most certainly will be able to. these characters and creatures will, but not the stock FPSC characters or anything without the specific animations.

@ Kamil,

well actually, RUCCUS answered your question, but thanks

@ Rage

i know of polycount and i am a member there, but thanks

@ gunner

lol thanks

Quote: "Any idea on the release date Jon? What about a price? Im really excited for these. Its gonna be great, i know it!"

not sure, but when its done its done hopefully *some* time this year, lol

lol @ opposing force

@ BVG

thanks

@ Punk13

£11.99 or $19.99

that is if it goes with TGC (never certain, but likely/hopefully w/e)

Quote: "Hey Jon you are a really good 3d modeler, I’m just curious what is the average resolution size of your textures?"

usually 1024x1024, same applies to the normal map, but specular map is usually smaller.

Quote: "My compliments the models are all wonderful.
I would like to use them with Virtools DEV, but I am not sure if their 3D format is compatible with it. Are they available for 3DS MAX so that I can export from there to Virtools?

like i mentioned, not really sure of when they may be available, i may even get impatient and just make them ready for TGC store separately, but i would prefer to pack them.

not sure about the max files, but its a possibility.

still cant use tablets

or at least, i haven't used an expensive one, i figured if i could get to grips with a cheap before investing in something more expensive i would avoid possibly wasting money, it may just be the one I've got but its just weirder to control for me. nothing like a pen, because i cant really tell where the end of a stroke will turn up on the screen...

I'll have to find someone/go somewhere with one and test out a decent one, because I'd like to move over to tablets

Any more news Jon?
Also I have a question with Zbrush in mind...(Seeming asyou have it.)
Is it like the farcry terrain editor?
Ive watched a few videos on you tube and it looks like as if its round ball and then pushing and pulling parts of the mesh.

looks quite good actualy... although I think ive had enough of software on my pc( only 10 gb left on both drives... )

i guess you can compare the sculpting brushes to those found in a terrain editor, so yeah. the idea is that you draw detail onto a model and pull bits in and out to make more complex shapes.

i will have some more news regarding the fantasy pack stuff as soon as i have completed my Dom war character (I'd rather complete it now than come back to it)

Just a quick question about the sword will it have block animations, I don't know if blocking is available in FPSC I haven't used it in a while just thought I would ask to find out.

Hey Jon just my paranoia / ocd kicking in here...

You're website index/navigation should (I recommend) be done with imagemaps, mainly because each individual icon takes a few extra seconds to load (for me) thus reducing the amazing design in general.

Now, if you had rollovers I could understand as to why you had each image separate. Again, you might have another reason as to why, but I'm justttt critiquing a little.

How you create this level of quality without using a tablet is mind bottling. Yes, mind bottling. It traps my mind in a bottle. Similar to mind boggling but slightly more extreme.

I plan to keep all these as a pack at first, then i will add them into the store, rather than one at a time, the points willing be around 200-400, most likely the prices will be a fraction of the packs cost.

i.e. pack costs $20 (20 / 10 characters = $2/200 points each)

and there will be more characters than that so possibly cheaper, depends, but obviously it will be much cheaper (and easier) to buy the pack instead of seperate items.

I honestly know that Jon could probably sell these model's for the fanatsy pack for more than $20 a pack, but I think he is being extremly nice, but more impoartantly he is trying to get high quality model's to some of the younger forum members who have little to no cash. Atleast, that's what it seems like to me. Also I'm not sure if I ever said this, but that warg is awesome and when u have free time I would love to see more animals from you Jon!

Jon, i just have seventeen words for you, i know, its a little more than normal but still.
Damn thats 18 already ><
Ok restarting with unlimited works:

Excellent stuff, just after looking at these i caught myself drooling i swear lol, really great stuff and i cant wait for the release. im purchasing all the different fantasy style model packs as well as searching the interwebs for more fantasy content. i have already started on the creation of tons of different terrains to be used in my up and coming fantasy game.

The only problem i have is finding models which match your perfect art style and quality.

Still, excellent stuff i really wish you luck with all future models and i really cant wait for the release!

Alright guys, this topic is so old im wondereing if these will be released, Jon is there any chance of releasing what you have currently? theres alot of projects waiting just on these models and they have been up here from the original topic for almost a year and a half, maybe more. any chance of releasing what you have got as one big model pack and then once you finish the others releasing them as seperate model packs.
Sorry to seem impatient
Thanks

You're seriously purchasing all of this media before you even have a playable demo ready? You should only need the final media for your game when every other aspect is done.

@ Violent Pigeon

thanks for the nice words.

YES this will still be released and YES it is still being worked on, and YES progress will be shown soon. You just have to hold on with me as i am trying to kick start my section of TGC store with some new models rather than just having Model Pack 5 in there for months.

i am creating one last character after the current project that can be found late in the Dominance war thread.
