Ditto.
Seeing as to how it'll take until mid-April to release 1.5+ to the general public, it would be very cool if you (NH) could release the latest beta of 1.5 along with a test map with the relief mapping implemented - you know, what you used for the preview shots.
It could be buggy or not; I just want to see relief mapping at work in FPSC so that I can start working on my segments. And I'm sure everyone else would be happy about having a test map to guide them in implementing your features.
Thanks in advance for all of your efforts,
ElInt
PS
Professional - that's the word, professional. Also, I'll provide some alpha-mapped relief maps free for your releases (when I finish them; they won't be for release to general public) if you want; couldn't hurt. 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 - consumer preference.

i think there will be no alpha release and i think we also need no textur because we can do them ^^

you and all, have to wait for an release and anyone will get one before the release date.

and by the way, i don`t think that NH will release the efxMod Beta in april because of some private problems!

I'm from Germany so don't say something about my English! Otherwise i will be a bit angry!^^

@Dark Goblin

About my question on page 14, I meant per level, and not like how you have to edit water quality via the EFX helper thingy, (like in V1.49), sorry if I came across wrong, but I meant scripting water away in the same way you can script it's height, reflection, refraction, etc...

Maybe the efxloader / efxmod.exe are recognised as trojans by bad antivirus software - it's AutoHotKey and it's UPX Packer

it's not a trojan - trojans just use that kind of packer, sometimes.

If you look at the name that avast displays you, you'll see some kind of "generic" - so it's a heuristical and a doubtful scan engine...

maybe we have said that we could do it but at this moment i dont think so because we have a lot of work just only with the whole shaders and also with the speed problems on older machines!

If you guys add variables to this, I'd definitely use it.....

But choosing between EFX and Ply's mod......it's hard because they're both equally great, Ply's got the gameplay ideas, and you've got the aesthetics.......if you guys joined together....now that would be great!

as said before, i dont think that we will work together, but don`t know what NH says about that, but i think we should work alone and let the community show us which one is the better one!^^

Why am I always involuntarily volunteered into fights like this?

@djmaster:

I think that armor would be filed under "gameplay" and efxMod is clearly a graphically oriented Mod.

I'm not sure, but I THINK that armor would be possible using my Mod's variable system. I'll post my idea for it in the scripting board.

@Nighthawk:

How will the DOF shader work? Does it focus on the object that you're currently pointing at? (Also, same question for the Bloom autofocus)

[EDIT] Changed EOF to DOF (Damn programming lingo )

Since when has ANYONE made an "official" release date for a project that they work on in their spare time? He doesn't get paid for this, so it's not like he can focus on it ALL the time. Real life gets in th way a lot, and I'm sure he would rather give you an arbitrary time rather than have something come up and not be able to release it on time and then have people moaning about the time being wrong.

Be glad he gave you "After or at the end of April" and didn't just say "Whenever I feel like it".

efx mod is currently paused, but its not dead. Nighhawk has some personal reasons for it so I woulden't really be suprised if 1.5 wont arrive in April.

And yes, I think they work on the project on their spare time. So people just give them time and let the programmers rest.

Ah, but since it has AirMod, there's some gameplay stuff thrown in aswell I need to get back to work on AirMod, been taking too much of a break Armor is an interesting idea for an addition...

@Airslide:

See the scripting board for the Armor script. I got it working.

When you get to V1.0 of Airmod, I'll start using your additions in my Mod as well.

Wow, I sincerely look forwards to the collaboration.
To mods in general, they can compete, yes, even become redundant if they must; they should target cross-compatibility, though. At least on some level.
Still waiting eagerly for Efx 1.5; source files for the test level seen in the video would be nice. Experimenting with Cryengine2 in meantime.

Cross compatibility isn't going to happen since each Mod needs to be named the same thing. "FPSC-Game.exe"

:-\

Then you modders should just join togather, compile the source and make an ultimate mega mod for fpsc x9.
Just think about all those features just in one game.

That's not the point Lennard. I'm sure we could if we wanted to, but right now... we don't.

And it's not like we can't all program the same stuff, either. I could easily throw Water/Bloom/Parallax Mapping/<insert random cool shader here>/etc into my own Mod, but I'm not interested in that kind of stuff right now. Not to mention, it wouldn't be polished to a blinding glow like efx's GUI system is.

Right now, the modders have a sort of... understood rule to go our own routes.

Which sucks for us, but just Airslides V0.5 Airmod makes me go crazy with ideas. Lemur V2 still seems the best, although it seems to have curled up in a corner and died over the last few weeks. I know thats not true however. Don't get me wrong, I love EFX and all, but their license is really sketchy and currently they don't have a download up, (which I DO understand). I just wish Lemur V2 would be released soon

It seems they are working out the bugs right now. Be patient, programmers have lives too!

Lemur V2 + AirMod + Empty's Mod + Ply's Mod + EFX Mod + v109 = Crysis in FPSC Classic

To tell the absolute truth, I cannot choose between these great mods! Lemur is awesome for Multiplayer (and Singleplayer alike) and has awesome water. EFX has awesome water (plus physics in v1.5), bloom and paralax mapping. AirMod has some sick features to do a lot of awesome things with. Ply's Mod has a plethora of amazing scripting abilities. Empty's mod allows allies and better AI. And the final version (soon to come) of v109 has a bunch of awesome tweaks added on to the headshot features.

Wonderful dream, ain't it?

Lol, I wish! We'd still have a lot of stuff that Cysis has over us. Namely: Terrain, Good Allies, Smart AI, Volumetric Clouds, and a beautiful Nuke Weapon!!!!

*Sigh* So many choices, I think I'll pick Ply's mod for Izolis, once he irons out the creases and makes it more performance friendly, as advanced scripting is something I could use....

Don't get me wrong the other mods are great, but EFX isn't performance friendly, Lemur's fallen off the map for a bit, and Airmod is unstable, (understandable because it's a V0.5 beta though)...

at LT T,

Crysis had Volumetric Clouds that supported every shader. Haha, they used so many shaders to accomplish that looks.
