If you could read properly, you would see they are supposed to be nooby Why do you think I didn't post them in my showcase thread BTW, spelling "noob" with zeros makes you a noob

Sounds pretty serious to me.

Good luck trying to prove that one.

I've just thought of what would make this the ULTIMATE mod... the ability to change the height of the botto of the water plane, meaning you could have aglass panl underneath the water, wihout actually having to be underwater.

Ok, I have to stop this

Aaagreen and all the others: we won't accept ideas for new features anymore. The list is such long and if you read the readme provided with 1.51c, you would know that efx is freezed.
So I'm not sure if there will ever be a 1.6 or even a full 1.5 for the public.

Sure, you can post your ideas. But I won't note them on my list of the features I may add

Just stop doing that and enjoy 1.51 Classic.

Nighthawk.

efxMod 1.52 Classic is out!

Changlog:
- Fixed efxwaterset Command

Download is available at http://efx.helixsoftware.eu/
or directly at http://efx.helixsoftware.eu/efxmod152c.zip

Quote: "Sorry to post again :/. Does anyone when they click FPSC-Game get a quick flash of TGC splash screen then get a black screen and eventually it closes?

Can anyone help fix that?

The error is: Runtime Error 118 - Array does not exist or array subscript out of bounds at line 3183."

What TGC Splash?
I don't know what you mean (-> Screenshot)

The error is not caused by efxMod, I think, maybe you should check the entities/segments you used

EDIT: did you copy the languagebank Files from the archive?

Fact of the matter is, the 7800 was designed with a wider throughput than the 8400. If you were to pit the two graphic cards against each other on a DX9 application, I wonder which would perform better, even though technically, they both can run DX9 graphics?"

Nvidia recoded the DX9 engine for the 8 series. So I would imagine that the 8400 would be better. I don't have a 7800 though, but I have a X1950 Pro, and 8400 is way better: Games Played: DiRT, Spiderman 3, Crysis, Assassins Creed, Need For Speed PS. Yep... 8400 rocks...

[ON TOPIC]

When I put quality to Extreme, im getting 26FPS (W/O Bloom) but when I put it up to Uber, then it drops down to 3FPS with no significant visual quality increase, so whats the difference?

Quality Level 5:
Water res (2 Cams): 2048x2048
Bloom Tone: 2048x2048
Bloom BlurX: 1024x1024
Bloom BlurY/Final: 1024x1024

Quality Level 6:
Water res (2 Cams): 4096x4096
Bloom Tone: 4096x4096
Bloom BlurX: 2048x2048
Bloom BlurY/Final: 2048x2048

These are all camera outputs, btw.

You can't see any quality increases, unless you use a desktop resolution higher than 1280x1024, even on my res (1920x1200) there's not a big quality improvement.

This Uber-Mode is some kind of... InDev goodie, rather useless.
But I thought... hey, it sounds kinda cool

Ok, just joking. I get about 20-30 FPS on Level 6.

Thanks for releasing EFX 1.5 Classic Nighthawk.

I watched your video and it looks amazing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg25AaLcYnQ

It would be great if Lee could incorporate this into the v1.09 beta being worked on.

It mentions in the download readme 'In fact, we're won't be working on it for a long time due to own projects, others than efxMod.'

I hope you'll find time to implement the remaining features for 1.5 pro. Perhaps you could charge for it if that makes it a little easier to justify the time required.

Anyway thanks for demonstrating that X9 still has a significant amount of life left in it yet.

Not a wiki fan, huh? Okay...

From: http://dictionary.laborlawtalk.com/Leet
Quote: "n00b, some consider it to be synonomous with newbie, while others make the distinction that "n00b" is an insult applicable to anyone acting stupid and "newbie" is an affectionate term for new users. (Also, newb.) "

From: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=noob
Quote: "n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own."

Please take note that irregardless of where you look, "n00b" is correct spelling for the word and holds many different definitions.

Get over it, it's leet-speak, it's real! And if you don't know what leet-speak is, then:

I'm extremely sorry Nighthawk. I took a spring break sort of thing and I just kind of forgot FPSC. I'm back though and ready to test and stuff. This looks very good what you've done.

Nighthawk: Can you create an example script showing a way to set the water height permanently, please? I really can't get my config script to work. Here's what I have so far:

Slayer, that line has no actions in it. Without a second colon the engine will not recognise "efxwaterset" as an action.

It would also be wise to set the state to 1 after setting the water's height, too. That way you'll be able to change it later on without this script setting it again.

The splash screen in the little movie at the start when it loads and it says the company name.

When I load it it flashes TGC slash screen for half a second and then the whole screen goes black and won't run.

I have put all the files in the correct location, such as the languagebank.

@Kerrby:

Don't run FPSC-Game.exe by itself when using a Mod.

I understand the utilities of doing it like that, but testing your game from FPSC normally is your best bet.

OKay so I open up FPS Creator and then run FPSC-Game.exe?

When I do that I still get the pitch black screen from FPSC-Game.exe.

I've never done anything like this before please tell me what to do/how to run it .

Don't run FPSC-Game.exe at all.

Just open FPS Creator, then click on "Test Game" when you are ready to test your level. Isn't that how you normally do it?

Well, to my knowledge of efx, you should be able to press "SHIFT+INS" while testing the game to bring up the console and adjust water and bloom like that.

I hate to agree with Steve, but I'm fine with EFX the way it is. Sure I would love a few things fixed/added, but it's good enough for now. When V2 comes out (assuming it does), you can have most of these pretty features and more.

No point in asking, since efx is currently on hold.

I'm sure he'll make a list of what it does when efx gets back on track, we can all wait gingerly until then.
