So, here it is (i'll edit the post on the first page, too.)

efxMod 1.51 Classic

efxMod 1.5 is a modification for the FPS Creator Game Engine, featuring

Water Effects
Multi-Pass Bloom Shading
Timer System
efxCustomizer GUI v3 (ingame adjustment of all efx Features)
AirMod Implementation
Water Physics including water currents
Resolution auto-adapt (automatical aspect ratio adjustment)
Script Commands
Uncapped Framerate
Shadersystem can be disabled
Quality levels changeable

efxMod 1.5 Classic does not contain

Profile Management System
Depth of Field
HueSatLight Shading
Camera Effects
Relief Mapping
Parallax Mapping
Normal Mapping (non-glossy)

What is the difference to the full efxMod 1.5 version?
efxMod 1.5 Classic only contains the shader capabilities of v1.48/1.49 and the new features like the Timer System or the general AirMod implementation.
The full efxMod 1.5 version is released later due to bugfixes and a slow development process.

Minimum system requirements
FPS Creator Recommended System (see fpscreator.com)
FPS Creator v1.07
Graphics card with Shadermodel 2.0+

License
efxMod 1.5 Classic is non-commercial only and cannot be used for any kind of commercial project.

Note: This is not the full version of efxMod, because it does not contain features like DoF/HSL. Please see Readme for more Information.

The Download is available at
http://efx.helixsoftware.eu/

P.S. When, if ever will we be able to buy this mod so we can sue it for our commercial games?

I don't know what we will do with that commercial-use-thingy...

efxMod is free for non-commercial games and will be free for non-commercial games in future.

I still have to talk to Lee, but I'll wait and see what will happen now, after the 1.51c release

Ok then, one more question, how do you get rid of the menu once you've brought it up?

Ok got it.
Here's my "after action report"
I started it up I was like wow! Amazing! And it is!
However a few things. One there's this splash-screen thing that can only be described as "annoying". But I understand that (somewhat anyhow).
Then the real problems started. My FPSC game would freeze every minute or so for a few seconds. (this was all done in the "laboratory" prefab, BTW). There was also this issue with lights not working and my muzzleflash light effect acting like a light (in which one you shot, the room would be lit up yellow for ever). Also, the water has no effects for when you shoot it, etc, but I'm not to concerned about that ATM. Overall, it is a great mod and I wish the developers the best of luck with ironing out the bugs in the future.

Mhhh the efxMod 1.5 was tested by more that 8 people and no one had bugs like this.

What FPSC Version are you using?
Programs in the background? (Winamp, Photoshop, ...)
PC Specs?

Quote: "Also, the water has no effects for when you shoot it"

Okay, that's not implemented

Anyways, thanks for your report

sorry, but you may deactivate Bloom or water (or both) if you want more performance

This image pops up occasionally saying this message will disappear in 10 seconds and it says a few things, which I didn't read

As for my specs, they're pretty decent:
1.5GB of ram
Nvidia 7800GT
Athalon AMD 64 2.4Ghz processor

Well there are more than 8 types of PC's in the world

And no real background app's were running, just the FPSC folder

All in all, great work guys.

that happens when you click on "About"... the efx GUI is made for using everything with one click

you can use all efx functions by holding just your left mouse button - you don't need to release the button when you want to activate/deactivate/slide

Thats not very polite...

I mean on purpose Maybe I accidentally did.

Is there a way to "save" your settings so you don't ahve to re-do them every test game?

Mhh you should read the readme (why's called it so? if your answer to this question is right, you get a cake )
saving the settings is currently not possible, because I'm working on that Profile-Management system for the full version.

The 1.5 Classic will be updated the next time

my recommendation: note the settings you used if they differ from the standard settings and set them manually via scriptcommands (or directly with one of the set_to_ifused Scripts in the efx dir in the scriptbank)

Ok, I'll try that, thanks for the help.

The console won't exit when i press SHIFT INS, it just appears back on. And it lags so much a 7-15FPS when i have the 8400 GS 256mb dedicated memory with DirectX10, 1gb RAM and 2 GHz Dual-Core. Apart from that, it is an excellent mod. Good Job!

What quality level? If it's Level 1, then it is your graphics card
(8400 is not a really high-performance card...)

do you think a 8400 is better than a 7800GT?

Newer model doesn't mean it is more powerful - the 8400's RAM has a 64-bit bus, yours has a 256-bit bus!
That's a difference like the distance from earth to Alpha Centauri!

8400 = Low performance / entry class graphics card
7800 = Mid Class

I expect a 7800 is about 4-5 times faster than a 8400

So when (if ever) will we see a "profile system" and/or splash effects?

where does it say that?

there are some undocumented scriptcommands for water currents and things like buoyancy, but these are still in development

EDIT: ah ok, I saw I wrote it on the homepage
sorry, my fault, it's undocumented, but it's usable... I'll post something about it, later

This release is just awesome !

I had quality set medium, water and bloom set on and I ran 22 fps to 24 fps but it felt like 30 or more, thanks to the timer system !
(ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb)
Also the resolution auto-adapt worked well, the graphics looked twice better !

The weapon animations seem to be fixed but when I shoot one bullet with my gun the sound will cut out. And also when I zoom in with my weapon, and fire objects then it made tiles of shot bullets on the object.

Are those known bugs ?
And congratz on the release Nighthawk & Dark Goblin. I hope Lee gives you guys some feedback

You want to have a run on Crysis? All High, res: 1024x768 = 45 fps

Lets see the 7800 do that.

8400GS might be underpowered but in certain games and applications, it can take the highest settings (in this case which is level 3,4, and 5 all above 39 fps.

8400 is better. Who cares if the 8400 is $20, and 7800 is over 5 times the cost? Lets see it take Crysis. DX10 rules.

Um, mine can do that too I can play any game on the market, ok, so the 780GT isn't great, it's certainly above average.

Sorry to post again :/. Does anyone when they click FPSC-Game get a quick flash of TGC splash screen then get a black screen and eventually it closes?

Can anyone help fix that?

The error is: Runtime Error 118 - Array does not exist or array subscript out of bounds at line 3183.

Sorry I'm late for the party, guys.

A few things:

@ Nighthawk:

Mod's looking very nice. I just wanted to ask why everything is .... ummm .... wavy looking, lol, while you are underwater. When I swim underwater in real-life, that's not how it looks. Is that something we can turn off somehow?

@Lennard:

The sound bug is from Airmod.

@Slayer:

Hurray, some more pics of Super-Bloomed, Water-logged levels in action. Very unrealistic pictures. They are only comparable to FPSCX10 n00b level pics. Cut back on the Bloom a little.... no, wait .... a lot. I bet that's gonna sound really harsh when I re-read this. Oh well.

@soniccreator:

Yet again, too lazy to read I see.

The 8 series are DX10 cards and the 7 series are not, so obviously the 7800 isn't going to be able to run Crysis like an 8 series card is going to, because if it runs it at all, you're going to be relying on your CPU to do everything as you won't be able to have the card do most of the graphics.

Fact of the matter is, the 7800 was designed with a wider throughput than the 8400. If you were to pit the two graphic cards against each other on a DX9 application, I wonder which would perform better, even though technically, they both can run DX9 graphics?
