Slayer_2
P.S. The UNARMED1 weapon from MP10 crashes FPSC when you try to add it to your level. EAI, can you fix that please? The Glock 18 also has the same problem.

djmaster,

What weapon? If it is an MP9/10 shotgun, DL the above fix gunn3r posted. If the walking is jittery but it says your framerate is high, press "x" and it will cap fps at 33 which seems to smooth things out (for me at least). Not ideal but I think a good workaround for this early version.

Hi Airslide,
I have a few ideas I think would be great in Airmod, if you ever have time and are interested enough to try adding them.

Improved zoom effects: forced un-zooming during reloads and the ability to remove changing the zoom level of the scope (ideal for iron-sights and reflex sights). Also a way to set the default zoom would be cool, but I won't even bother asking for that.

An ammo max for weapons, so you can't have 999999 grenades and 999999 RPK mags

Thanks for reading,
Slayer_2

ammo max should be only optional or changeable otherwise fantasy and scifi games will not have any freedom option

Well, you could set it to 999999 And even Quake doesn't have unlimited ammo, actually, I don't know one game that does...

@Airslide:

I was just browsing through your code, looking at all the changes you've made and had a few laughs at some of your comments.

Here are some of my favorites:

Quote: "Airslide - Maybe this will fix odd ambient issue? UPDATE: Nope."

Quote: "Airslide - Line Changed for Timing System (not entirely sure whether it does anything though)"

Quote: "Airslide - Why the hell is the player height lowered? Prehaps this should be changed?"

Quote: "Airslide - Remove camera wobble, causes some strange problems and isn't all that noticeable anyways."

(Not sure if this one was yours, but it made me laugh anyway)

Comments in DBP are depicted by "`" (The non-shifted ~ ) or by typing "rem" at the beginning of a line.

You can also comment sections by using "remstart" and "remend".

What do you think I'm doing when not working on this ?

Oh yea...playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2...

Coding spree starts....now.

EDIT: Also, for the re-write (0.6) I am dropping the timer system. This is because X10 already has this and it will be part of X9 after the migration, which looks like will be done some time after 1.09 is finalized. It simply takes too much time away from everything else and brings in a number of bugs - Lee's evidently is more efficient, or at least he found a way around the ODE problems.

As I said, too buggy, and too much time, considering it will be replaced soon. The other features will still be useful, but the timer system doesn't seem worth it.

Good news - Model Packs 9 & 10 should now be fully compatible without fixes, and you can now have up to 10 sounds for a weapon instead of the limited 5.

When V2 (the migration) is released (with source code) I'll try to port all AirMod features that aren't rendered obsolete over to the new version.

New video of AirMod 0.6 BETA!
Melee Blocking Ability! Add the ability to block an enemy's melee attack! The player's weapon must have a "block" animation and the character's script must use the new "plrblocking" condition to determine wether or not it hits the player. As such, existing melee scripts must be modified to use the new feature.

I've also added the following additional parameters to the gunspec:

noscorch = X - Option to not create a bullet hole when hitting a static object, good for melee weapons
soundstrength = X - Sets the distance the weapon's sound can be heard, (100 default), good for silenced for melee weapons that need to be quiet.

[animations]
start fire 2 = X,X - Randomly chosen alternate fire animation
end fire 2 = X,X - ^
start fire 3 = X,X - ^
end fire 3 = X,X - ^
block = X,X - When this animation is defined, right clicking will play the animation and put the player in a blocking state for that duration. That can be used with the below scripting command.

New scripting commands:
plrblocking = X - condition, returns 1 when player blocking, 0 when not.

The blocking is great but my favorite thing right now is something Airslide didn't mention and went in after the video was done: Random animation selection for multiple attacks.

edit: LOL X-post

I applaud Airslide for a feature set that's really restored the joy of creation for me. I'm having so much fun being able to create content closer and closer to how I've wanted to do things from the start

Sorry for the double post, but I'm still noob slapped. I have an idea that could really add to gameplay. Smoke, tracers an laser trails for weapons. X10 has something similar with the laser trails. But it would be cool to have flak weapons (like an RPG or bazooka leave a trail too). However I can think of a few problems with this. You would have to find a way to make the trail appear behind the rocket while keeping the timing in sync (so the trail isn't far ahead of the rocket or vice-versa) and if it was a grenade launcher or something, the trail would go in a straight line while the grenade goes down. If you just wanted tracers/lasers, a system like X10 would be perfect. But if you wanted effects on flak then you could possibly use a 64x64 or 32x32 image as a decal and repeat it as necessary. Then fade it out slowly after it appears. I attached a "smoke trail" image for you to see what I mean. Anyhow, not trying to beg you for features, just throwing ideas out there. I only opened the source once and it scared me away, so if my idea is totally loopy and unrealistic, than please tell me

I'll look into it. Rocket trails were supposed to be part of V1 but never made it I think.

Sights Video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvrmBD9ZJYA

Still WIP, but all controlled through gunspec:

simplezoom = X
simplezoommod = X
simplezoomacc = X
simplezoomx = X
simplezoomy = X
simplezoomspeed = X

Will explain in detail later.

WOW that's amazing. Beats an overlay thats for sure.

Now, with Distance Blur, and sights being close to the camera, we'll have realistic ones.

Getting COD4 sights is rather tricky with this system. The best way is an alternate animation set, which Errant is working on for some of his weapons and AirMod will support
