For the moment I dont see that you have any chance at all of seeing any major additions to either the way the editor works in creating levels nor multiplayer. I doubt TGC or Lee will have any consideration whatesoever currently in these areas.
Lee has recently again reitereated waht you are likely to see in the next version and tin those areas the statements are inkeeping with long term thinking. Major changes in those areas have been and still are a no go area for TGC as I understand their thinking, not that I am privy to it. Like you I take it on face value as to what information is given out.
Clearly the release at the earliest possible time of the Migration Beta is of priority and what that might contain has been stated. Lee and TGC will have enough on their plate contemplating the Beta release and the following ineviatble issues and bug fixes to bring about some kind of stability to as wide a range of users as is possible.
You will be hard pressed to even realise that in the short term such is the immensity of the undertaking. Not likely then that deviation will occur at this time.
You have to be realistic here unfortunately.
I have always been a supporter of both Multiplayer and level building improvements tied to editor features and capability and that goes back well before the EA release.
Both are complex subjects in relation to FPSC specifically and going down those roads a major undertaking unlikely to be contemplated. Too complicated to consider here though a little thought will give some understanding. FPSC uses a tile system for a reason? Multiplayer is a minefield of problems?
