Next time can we say in the email it is not the update? I got the email, downloaded and installed and now I have crashed everywhere and need to reinstall 117. I didn't know till I came here looking for a solution that it did not contain the update for 117. Now I gotta spend a few getting my files back to 117.

@Nomad Soul:

Not entirely, the PB variable system is not part of V1.17. Lee was going to consider putting it in for V1.18. And I don't know about everyone else, but I much more prefer PB's variable system. It seems to bring everything together.

with this mod, you can extend the multiplayer?
example, drop bombs, add more weapons to a preset single player, medical "gun" "tommygun"
enginer "gun" "M32" "bomb"
assault "FAMAS" "bomb"

and possibly combat team vs. team (red team blue team) 4vs4 8vs8

The PB variable system was added into 1.18 by Hockeykid a week or so ago. Which is good news for everyone

Its good to have the Variable system in Vanilla, although i hope it will be worth using Pblue, i hope they will keep some nice features only in pblue

@lotgd:

Playing a bit of Bad Company 2 are we?

I'm sure with some scripting you can set up "jobs" in MP and to give the player the proper equipment upon spawning.

Lemur multiplayer has been integrated into PB, so you CAN set up team based deathmatches.

Just a delicate reminder without ruffling any feathers, hopefully. Holding off anything to do with v1.17, until I get my project blue upgrade. Its painful to wait, but I guess I am more impatient than most here.
So, here's it plain and short: please at least tell us something about the features of the new update which we PB purchasers hope Hockeykid is working on. And I am not talking about v 1.18, but Project Blue.
Regards

I don't think Project Blue is going to be getting many more features, it will probably only be updated to the latest source.

My BIGGEST hope (in all of FPSC-dom) is for once the migration update stream settles down, Hockeykid (and some brave volunteers so he doesn't have to do it alone) will add all the Fenix Mod features to PB.

Heck, since it's MY dream I'd have him change the name of the mod to "First Person Studio (Professional Mod)" and sell it for $50 so more money is made off of the project (we all know it'd be worth it) and that means he'll want to go through with the Fenix Mod source ripping But, hey... It's probably just a pipe dream

EDIT: Oh yeah, and complete FPSC IP integration (if knxrb isn't already adding it to 1.18 anyway). I think it would be neat to have some Ply's Mod, Fenix Mod and (especially) Lemur features working with FPSC IP. That'd make for some nice multiplayer!

The update will take a bit longer than expected due to an unknown error. Hockeykid is working hard on it though.

Very Cool. I just have a lot of my game working on scripts with PB, that won't work on 1.17 Vanilla, but I also am using the new features so I don't want to downgrade.

@MrJensen:

Your best bet to resolve the problem would be to email either hockeykid or knxrb, tell them your problem, and if need be send them your key so they can cross reference it with the database.

@ZackS28:

I'm not sure if hockeykid has worked past the problem he was encountering before. If he has then it should have been updated for compatability with V1.17.

Yes is has, Ply...Well..sort of...They were quick with the responses to the downloading problems it was having (for instance, it didn't extract it into the FPSC folder after I downloaded it and what-not...) but it's still got some technical issues.

I think I need to reinstall FPSC with a lower version (i've got 1.17 currently, and I think the last known working version with ProjectBlue was with 1.16 if I read everything correctly) as it crashes with the ProjectBlue stuff installed...

Plystire you could add support for 4.0 fpscip do not think it's very difficult to do ... hoping at least one response, which ultimately seems a bit all stopped.

It was stated before that FPSCIP will not be implemented due to personal reasons. I know full well it's not difficult to implement FPSCIP into the source (I wrote the first Mod source for it after all), but that's not the reason it hasn't made its way into PB.

If hockeykid changes his mind, I'm sure he would inform everyone about it.

Hi starmind, sorry about that. I'll get that worked out for you (please ensure it didn't end up in your spam).

@ALL Finally, after 5 tries, I have successfully integrated V117 into Project Blue. I've spent the whole day getting the little bugs out. All Project Blue owners expect to see an email in your inbox sometime this week. This version will be marked as a beta to ensure all the bugs that have formed because of V117 are found and squashed.

Don't know ply, I just don't understand why he would integrate the source of 1.17 for PB when he is working on 1.18 right now. Would it be logical, instead of working hard to get it to work with a version that will be older when 1.18 to just integrate it to 1.18?

Was just a question.

@Soviet176 im sure he will implement it once 1.18 is fully done and they move onto working on 1.19 thats what it seems like to me he waited till 1.17 was done befor he put pb to it

It might be logical... but how many people have thus far nagged hockeykid about getting v1.17 integrated into PB?

Besides, when v1.18 strolls along, he would have had to integrate v1.17 code at that time anyway. At least this way he's doing the end product in small manageable steps.

I hope the performance is like 1.7 performance was. 1.8 one character frames go down. I wish s4mod would bring back hie performance mod for the new fpsc. thats all it really needs.now that the new fpsc got everything this mod has. with Particle System, bloom effects and everything shaded. performance is the key.I got lots of GPU for that.

more than what meets the eye

Hi guys,
All the Project Blue V1.8C beta emails have been sent out to ALL Project Blue owners. Also Project Blue now supports FPSC-IP, to turn on the menu override code add "usefpscip=1" in the setup.ini

Requires V117 or V118 Beta 1

Enjoy!

So 1.8C will work with V1.17 and above now? Also, a personal request: Can you change my email address from the gmail one to the new one in my profile? Thanks

Finally, what does turning on the 'menu override code' using 'usefpscip=1' actually do/how does it work? Thanks for the future insight

Yes, it REQUIRES either V117 or V118 Beta 1

Done

FPSC-IP requires the multiplayer menus to be overrode so it can jump right into game.

If you're using Project Blue for your games and you want to use FPSC IP with it then you must add 'usefpscip=1' to the setup.ini of your games before applying FPSC IP. This is just for Project Blue though.

Thanks for the fast replies Sean and Robert, really appreciated, and nice work on PB so far It's truly astonishing.

EDIT: Downloaded and extracted; everything works perfectly. One question: I have a lot of different experimental bloom shaders in my effectank - which one is the default PB bloom shader (its location)? Thanks again
