there'll be a chest piece covering it anyway, but yeah at the moment he looks like a tramp, or an unlucky extra in lord of the rings...

The face is lumpy, like i have said before, try smoothing the lumps out, should make the face look a lot more appealing.

Surely if it's a vampire it shouldn't look "Appealing"

Yet another question ( why does this forum lack a PM function ), but what is the number of poly's you are sculpting with, because ZBrush stopts at 2mil here and your models look way higher. And second is there a possibility to add reference images in ZBrush?

you can add reference images on image planes, however there aren't transparent textures so its a bit tricky, if i recal the trial stops at 2 mil however you can edit this in your preferences, its based of the amount of memory you have, if you put it above what they recommend then it can cause issues, mine is limited to 20 - 25 mil

K, I guess that means they are forcing me into a new computer xD. But I was wondering if you could point out a tutorial that you used when you started, because I just don't know where to start ( to many tools ).

go to the classroom section of pixologic.com, it'll show you all that you need, start on getting started, then the producing a model for 3d printing, its good at showing how to detail a model and then... i'd reccomend just working through each tutorial when you have a problem.

anyway heres an update, did some detailing on the face, it makes it look a bit more reptilian, but i like that personally (the shoulder plates are still there, i just hid them so that the image wasn't huge)

Vampires have no set look, so long as they do not sparkle. The reptilian effect is your own, and I personally think that it fits. Nice progress. ^^

i really dont mind the Twilight vampire logic. i loved the books XD

i think u overdid the nose, it looks messy, the shoulder things would look better if he was more noble, since they look like noble shoulders.

edit: also why do i get the feeling of the shirt texture being very low res?

Lol, I just had to have that in there, and I read the first book, and I love vampires to much to enjoy the book.

From all the vampires I have seen in movies, Nosferatu has to be the one that yours is closest to I think.

Are you by chance going to model his teeth?

Nosfuratu is definately my favourite vampire, shame there aern't any other truely epic vampires at the moment, I've been thinking of adding the teeth but I'm not sure.

I like the new detailing, I think it pulls the nose in much better overall, rather than seeming just stuck in there for the sake of having it

Well, I finished the getting started, but that leaved me with making a vase so I still don't really know how to use all the brushes etc. But will check the 3D printing tutorial.

also just spend time on the forums, you'll learn a lot quickly as a lot of people discuss processes and what not

heres an update, escaping from the symmetry that its had till now (i still have the last model, so its not permant if you don't think it works)

EDIT
just noticed an odd error, on the inside of the nose, however when i went to fix it it was gone, so don't know what thats about but just ignore it

C&C welcome

Wow, Looking great! Creeps me out a little, But i think that's the look your going for?

I like the big gap in the middle, It's like the silence in music, It really brings the other detail out!

Any chance you could give me some tips? I posted some in my thread but they are really bad xP

@Mazz426,

All I can say is WOW! The models look great!

I don't know if this is a good time to ask, but I'm working on
a football game, and I'm still looking for someone to model for me. I know how to model, but I just can't seem to get the characters down. So it will be great if you could join me. Also am looking to sell this game and it has already been exploding on other forums as the demand for a good football game on PC has increased.

Thanks!

you're in luck, my holidays are just a week away, what i'll do is if you provide me with a few images i'll generate a character base, from there all you'll need to do is drag and drop the face you want onto the uvmap, i'll need details so post on here your desired poly counts, texture size, the reference images and what not, i'll model and texture them however i lack a animation package that i can either export the animation or use successfully, other than animation i'll be able to model you guys. all i'd require is credit as character artist in the games credits, and a little metion when the characters are posted, mabey even a link to here.

anyway i decided to increase the eyes sizes, however i'm going to have each eye a different size and in more mish mash-ish pattern, alot like spider eyes, i also did some painful modelling of the inside of the guys mouth, lucklily i'd already seperated it as a poly group so that made it easier, he'll have teeth, of course,
C&C welcome

Yeah, increasing the eye size should help a lot. Because where you were at before, there was no main point of interest on the face.

@Mazz426

I could use a low poly and high poly version so I can make a good normal map. Texture size could be 512x512 and/or 1024x1024. And some reference images:

i'm afraid to say that school work has really picked up (close to exams) and i haven't been able to do much modelling, even my own stuff in quite a while, however i've provided a .zip file for you that contains a body base and the arms, the body and the arms both have equal joining points (5 edges each) so they'll be easy to connect, i apologise that i was not able to comlpete the task, but after my exams (in 3 weeks) i may well pick it back up and generate a proper finished version but for now, i can't, sorry again.

hope these at least helps

no i mean the one in your acctual z brush folder, go to program files/pixologic/zbrush R3 and look for a file called:

ZBrush_3.5_tutorials

thats it

anyway heres a small update, made a head using z spheres and the skull as a base, i'm retapologising it at the moment, z spheres make a lot of unnessecary polies, its meant to be slightly stylised so tell me what you think

EDIT:
also decided to post the z sphere base

Coming on nicely. It is always interesting to see how different something can look just from subtle changes in the underliying mesh and then the layers on top. Like how you have followed the tutorial, made a skull then fleshed it out and worked on the skin. I love playing about with ZBrush it is always fun as you never know what might come out of it. Just let the creativity flow. Keep up the good work it is great to see you progressing.
