That looks pretty cool.
Did you perhaps draw inspiration from this?

At last I was able to import a naga into the game. It was a little quirky, but now it works. Since the naga will be a non-moving enemy, shooting projectiles, I'll have to add some things to the AI before it's fully working. Right now it just animates.

There you have it, it is a medium sized enemy. Notice the mirror effect.

There's no problem to import more than one, fortunately.

The fps seem to be pretty stable, so I call this a success!

Ok, time for an update!!!(three exclamation marks means three updates)

Since my last post(which was posted more than a month ago), I´ve been working on three new enemies, since I´ve got a summer job now it took a while. These enemies are the last, some of the old enemies will be removed(because they are ugly). When all of the enemies have been animated, I'll start working on the final boss battle for the game. I really hope I'll be able to finish the game before the end of this year! My stupid brain is starting to give me ideas for new games, sigh...

Good old 3dsmax

Hmm, it seems like my post appeared on the bottom of the previous page(if you use 40 posts/page which is default, I think?)
So I'll post the images again as thumbnails, so you people don't have to go to the previous page and scroll all the way down...

There!

wow...all of a sudden you got extremely good at modeling and texturing...not like your other models and textures were bad or anything but this is drastic improvement. how did you do it? your style seems to be changing over time though. are you going to redo your original models?? i like the progress. this has really come a long ways.

haha ya. i couldnt help but laugh when looking at the first page and how everyone was ready to flame zzz and calling him a noob. The irony of it is that he is probably one of the very few who is actually close to finishing a quality game with very legitimate graphics and gameplay. lol

Quote: "but this is drastic improvement. how did you do it?"

Almost all the enemies were all made before the very first demo. That was more than 2 years ago!

Quote: "are you going to redo your original models?"

The Soulhunter model won't be remade, I might update the texture a little though.
The "smiley" enemy(the one wearing a tuxedo) is currently being remaked.
The "lucifer" enemy(the small green demon) will remain as it is. It will, however, loose its fire attack.
The troll will remain as it is.
The old pig(the green one), will be replaced by the Cycloink .
The small monochrome doll with the jaws will be replaced by the forest imp.
The large red demon will be replaced by the forest guardian.
The wolf will be removed.
The Towrus and the Naga are new enemies.
The Ignisaur will be able to breath fire.

Quote: "everyone was ready to flame zzz and calling him a noob"

Yeah, it's kinda funny! This was my very first thread too, so all my posts had to be validated. The ANJL raged over my huge .bmp files and when my new posts were finally approved it looked like I had edited my old ones.

Nope, I'm still in school... However, I do have a summer job right now as a web designer.

Very good zzz! Was this game created in DBC or DBP? Either way, it is of high quality. You ahould really look into investing into your skills by capitalizing on them, instead of just making these games as a hobby and giving them away for free(that's not to say that I, as many others here, will enjoy what you have so graciously handed to us). There are people all over the world willing to buy games online at a reasonable price.

First I thought of removing the "smiley" enemy from the game. But I just couldn't, after all it was the first enemy I made for this game. The tuxedo however had to be removed.

Xtreme makeover:

I agree about the tux, but I also much prefer the new model. Perhaps he could wear the overcoat loose? I imagine that would be a difficult animation unless you used memblocks I imagine, but right now he looks... naked.

I'd say put a lose tux overcoat on the new model, but I get that would be odd for a forest... unless these particular enemies were once people.

Could you show us the animation? I wanna see how the new long arms work out.

Edit: I just saw I haven't commented on the new enemies! They're amazing. I mean, really excellent stuff.

Hehe, no matter what you say, the poor guy has to run around in the forest all naked. No more .
Thanks for all the nice comments. The enemies hasn't been animated yet, but I'll post some videos when they are.

Edit:
I loaded all of the enemies into the game and took some screenshots. It was quite hard though, because the naga already has an AI and I forgot to turn it off. (The naga shoot rocks at you)

This is the new group of enemies. Two original characters are left(+ the remade "smiley").

Eventually I ran out of health because of the naga. If you find it interesting you can send the rocks back at the naga by using the shield(and the sword I think?). If I remember correctly you can hurt other enemies with the rocks as well.

I'm just amazed at what you can squeeze out of DBC, makes me wish I would learn how to program instead of being captured by the 3D side of things =o)

Yeah, hopefully it will run at a pretty decent, crysis-ish, framerate on most computers.

Quote: "Lol, you sound like you tend to forget exactly what he programmed as well"

I had a quick look at my code and I found this:

So now it's confirmed, both the sword and the shield works to repel the rocks back to the naga or any other enemy(as I also found out). So, now I'm sure.

Edit:
Quote: "when can we expect a new demo"

I'll release a new demo when all the enemy animations are done. I'm really glad I recoded the AI and made a small scripting system, so I just have to set the different stats in a txt file( like speed and animation frames) for each enemy.

Sweet! Then it will look like a slideshow! (Although I didn't really have any issues with crysis on my computer, didn't actually like the game though)
Looking forward to the coming updates!
Oh and are there any new videos coming up maybe? (hint hint)

Okay, the smiley animation is now done! I'm pretty happy with it, although, for some reason, it looked a lot better in the modeler than it did ingame. Hopefully I'll be able to tweak it a little.

I uploaded a video on youtube:
