OMG, that was amazing. I... you sir, are a magician.

That is the single best animated anything I've seen in DB or DBpro

Wow I like the "getting hit" effect where the screen flashes white and red. That Soul Hunter guy can really take a hit . And nice enemy animations-- it is my understanding that you made them in DBC? Reguardless, nice work as always, zzz!

You think so? Thanks!

Thank you!

Yeah, he's pretty tough!

Quote: "And nice enemy animations-- it is my understanding that you made them in DBC"

Well the animations themselves aren't hardcoded in DBC if that's what you mean. The game itself however, is coded in DBC.

Thank you too!

Yeah. One day in a distant future(hover cars etc.) I might rewrite the game for DBP. Just maybe.

I'm really glad to hear that! Thank you!

I'm pretty satisfied with it, yeah. I don't very play much on it, but I'm not really a gamer. It's a nice, small, pretty cheap system for casual gaming.

New video!!

The video is awfully slow in the beginning.

...now see here, I'm giong to have to hate you for this. This is looking to be one of the best indi games around, and the only thing stopping it is the lack of levels!!! For you next games, you need to find some decent system for level building.

Anyways, looking awesome as always.

Awesome little dino.

I think you may want to consider speeding up the fire breath animation and attack, though. It would add a bit more difficulty in dodging and would probably make it a lot smoother. Just my suggestion.

Looking great! Keep it up.

Yeah, modeling levels directly in max is time-consuming. Lesson learned. And please don't hate me...

A great suggestion! He was a little slow, but now he's almost as fast as a velociraptor. I increased his walking and turning speed a little and made the "breath-prepare"-animation faster, made the flames move a little faster so they reach further.

I might add difficulty levels in the end, because it's really hard to make things balanced. The Ignisaur is still pretty easy to kill when it's alone, but add one smiley to the party and you're dead.

Save for bosses, what enemies in games AREN'T easy to kill when they are alone?

Sounds like it'll turn out just awesome! Can hardly wait for another demo. *jitters*

Can't wait for all the nasty bugs you might find then. *jitters*

The old "Lucifer" enemy is now reanimated! It's been a while since I modeled this enemy, but I still think that it looks good enough to keep in the game. At least that's my opinion.
No video this time though. I'll probably upload one video featuring the two old reanimated monsters later(Lucifer and the stone troll).

Screenies:

Three Lucifer monsters.

The Ignisaur's flames reaches further now.

If you get caught in the flames you'll burn for a while and your health will slowly decrease.

This game is magnificent! I have never seen something as cool as this! Really, really cool!

I like the part where the troll hits at the first part of the video. The player sure is robust!

I`m curious: What`s the FPS at now on your computer?

The FPS is not very high, around 16 with ALL the monsters on screen(including the naga)+grass on+fx on, using a screen resolution of 1024x768x32, it's still playable though.
At 640x480x32 and no monsters visible I get 52fps, at that resolution I can even play it on my laptop.

Thanks, SMD_3d, but I already own DBPro. The reason why I'm not converting the game to DBPro is because it would be to much of a hassle. First of all, it would be easier to recode the entire game than converting it. Second, I would have to update all objects and animations with bones and such, to be on par with DBP standards, that would also take a long time and I wouldn't enjoy it. I hope you'll be satisfied with what I'll be able to produce with DBC.

You may like to hear that I'm going to make a DGDK game as a project in school, hopefully it'll turn out good.

Pff, DBC can do more than enough graphically. Check out Evochron Renegades, Soulhunter and Dream to see what I'm talking about. And honestly, I've seen stuff in DBC that I've yet to see in DBPro.

Although Geisha House, Pirates of Port Royale and especially Final Exodus do look swe-e-e-et.

unfortunately graphics isn't everything. i personally like the games artistic quality/style and seeing it go to bloom shaders, normal maps, and the likes, i honestly think would lose that artistic style of the game. the game's gameplay is what has been catching my eye and the convincing Soulhunter world. I think this is on par with banjo-kazooie and the early zelda games (like nintendo 64).

If at first you dont succeed, call it ver 1.0

oh i wasnt saying that graphics were bad or anything.... And now what zzz has just told me i now understand. See the diff with dbc and dbpro is that you can set frames for animating manualy in dbc and not in dbp. DBP can only use the set frame to frame number. Dbc can make adjustments to the character and save the frame. Dbp not capable of producing a good game? Sure it is.. but you just need to know how to take advantage of all the new commands. As far as i can see all that is different is the animation stuff and a few less image file types supported and some shader stuff. Oh and the easy add ons (dlls) like blue giu that kinda stuff.

I just thought it would be cool to see some of dbp's graphics commands in use.

Anyways sweet job....cant wait to see the game finished

That new enemy looks pretty awesome. The foghorn sound works surprisingly well. The other enemy seems pretty sweet too. Game overall really otherworldly but coherent. My cup of tea!
