Thanks for the comment. Fantastic music, I think it'll fit in perfectly with the mood. Just think; eerie mansions and The Entertainer!

Exactally, imagine the plrs response when the entertainer starts playing and Zombies come and kill you! It would freak me out... I might just make a movie...

The Entertainer: Music that Kills.

And everyone who hears the song, the Entertainer, gets mauled by a thousand zombies, after 7 days. Oh, and the zombies come out of the TV and all black and white. And the zombies have really long hair. And there will be random flashes of a solar eclipse, not really sure how that ties in.

What time is it?

Merranvo, are you a writer? 'Cause that idea is so original that I think I'm going to burst into several monkey-infested pancakes. Really, I'm going to explode in a sea of Herbal Essences shampoo bottles, mixed with several boxes of Cheerios.

Hehe, pretty good indeed. Like mine (it's part of a set that follows the life of "Julia")

It's not my best; I wrote it in 7th grade. What was the subject of this thread again ?

I suffer from a fps of 20 though the whole game, I think it may be because of all the physics objects.

I also thought we were talking about a cool new way to place decals...
:state=0:rundecal=3
:state=0,plrdistwithin=40:plraddhealth=-1

and a cool new script for doors
;Artificial Intelligence Script

How are you suppose to beat the game? I went though the whole level, but didn't win.

Firstly - Yes, admittdly I have a knack for physics objects. Every plate, chair, candle and bottle in that dining room has physics applied--of course, I wouldn't know having the juicy computer I do; I average at 30 FPS, with the occasional drop to 23, expecially in the dining room and foyer.

Secondly - What do you classify as "whole level"? Have you looked around the dining room hard enough? Have you gone around the gigantic basement long enough? Maybe not.

I went though the dining room, pressed the fireplace a few times, didn't know what it did though. The decal script up there will keep the fire facing 1 direction.

I went though the basement, pushed all those boxes and recived a key and something else, couldn't read the message.

I killed everything, and STILL haven't found a way to beat the game (this is my 4th time) I keep thinking I missed somthing up stairs, but how could I miss something if I can't go back up there in the first place?

Right now, I just don't know what I am missing... and it is all confusing, you should get the win game at the bodys right?

Merry; two things. Firstly, if you didn't know what the swtich did then how did you open the door underneath the stairs? Secondly, the fact that you can't go back up is my mistake. I fixed that in a multiplayer version, but it made it too easy to get down there in the first place.

After you get the key from the basement, any chance that you went out of the room and DIRECTLY ahead, moving to the elevator? You should do that. That leads to the end of the level.

I ment that as a note to be fixed, When I originally pressed it, First play, I had no clue what it did, i thought that it would open the fireplace like in those old movies.

Ha! I have no idea why it didn't finish the level...

Um... maybe... walk along the left wall and walk up to the biohazard box?

I originally made that an objective, although, when I made the cutscenes (which, due to file size, had to be cut out), I covered the room with a storyzone and made that the objective. When I took it out, I replaced it with a win zone. I ended up having to delete the .exe from my computer, so just move around a little.

Can you test your EXE? I want to know wiether my computer is preforming some evil newyears joke or if this is an actual issue.

Woah...

Just tried it, you're completely right! I hadn't really realised...

Um... look, I was planning on redoing small parts of it anyway, I think I might just redo the level with a few (needed) tweaks here and there... including a WinZone! Strange nobody before you mentioned it though...

Bloody forums! It didn't even show your post as a new post! Anyway, ha! Well, that's not necessary, although the link to the demo is on the first post in this thread, so I don't need to send it to you.

On another note, after neglecting this for much too long, I'm getting some progress. I've made two story cutscenes, to replace the boring ones I kept in my personal version of the 1 level demo (as I've said, it was way too big). Here is the opening cutscene which will play when you open it.

Could that rip off Doom 3 any more! I don't think so.

95% of that was the D3 prologue, even the music sounded similar.

Um, Avenging Eagle... thanks? I know, I know, it does sound very similar, but the music ISN'T. Well, although you could have said that infinetely nicer, I respect your opinion, and, thinking about it, decided to change it slightly. Please, next time, be a little nicer, it'll do you some good.

Thanks, Bullshock.

i like the cutscene....

even if it doesent have amsome resolution and guns blazing with crazy rockets flying everywhere...

a cutscene is supposed to establish a story, and thats exactly what yours does.

You really should have it go from left to right instead of centering. It doesn't play that well centering. Personally, I think you should have a 15 second action-play before fading into "Project Luna"

See, now, I was trying to get a "typewriter" effect, and, admittedly, I bowed down to the in-built horror of Windows Movie Maker; and the typewriting effect center... wait, I know how to do it now! I had it on middle justify, I just need to put it to the left and... done!

Merry, I'm guessing by "15 second action play" you might mean in-game? Sounds like a relatively good idea, might liven things up a bit. I'm not going to attach it yet (it's over 10MB at the mo'), but I've finished the opening cutscene to level 1, which is a diary of a researcher, and it has slightly better effects than the first one (Moving overlays, anyone?). I'll see if I can turn down the resolution and get it below 10MB.

And KOTW, thanks; you're right, it was the "Orbital Developments" part that was very D3-ish, although in the one I posted at the top of the page it's changed.

Thanks again, Bullshock.

I didnt think you could use movie maker files with FPSC. Oh well, you learn something new everyday...and I thought that cutscene was great Jiffy, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next one!

AE, don't worry, I was a little angry at that time myself; my FEAR DVD broke and... well... I was annoyed. Anyway, I have actually been looking into some typewriter sounds, and was thinking of some good narrative.

And Gamz; you can't use WMV's with FPSC, I just used the format for ease, I'll be converting them into the gigantic AVI's soon enough.

EDIT: Okay, I've edited it the level 1 opening down to about 2.5MB, it's attached.

I say go get a stuffed kitty, fill it with arsinic (mercury is better), and 'feed' it to the bulldogs.

Hello guys!

Believe it or not, I am still here. Well, as of yesterday .

I left for several months to focus on my first love--writing--and complete a project of mine that I had been aspiring to do for several months. It is a compilation of 12 crime stories that all have twists to them... and are all true. Well, either way, I've completed it. I had been writing it while I was here, but ended up going through extremely straining periods of writing, re-writing, scrapping, reproducing, remaking, refining and painfully editing each story. Now, that's done--all I have to do is think of a title .

So no, I'm not dead, or banned--I just left for a while. Now I'm back, and I'm in the process of recreating the first level for the fourth time . Well, not specifically a recreation--it's a new level, but it started as a "test" (whether it will end up just that or not, I'm not sure). It is completed, now all I have to do is tweak it, add the two cutscenes shown previously in the thread, and upload it using my poor, poor internet connection.

And, I tweaked the shotgun power that I have in the recreation. Now, when you shoot it, zombies fly across the room. But don't worry, this is no ordinary "Rambo" game, you have very little ammo. Use these blasts wisely... In fact, the whole level is very different. I (attempted to) add some "cheap" scares, like strange noises and machinery randomly turning on. It's not all that scary, but the noises were fun to make .

Anyway, should have the demo up soon. I was going to upload a "showcase" of the shotgun blasts, but they couldn't be compressed sufficiently without losing MAJOR quality.

"i really admire your pregame setup how did u do that?"
Hm... I just used "Install Creator Pro" and personalised it a bit--nothing expert about it, but thanks.

*OFF TOPIC* Ah, It's nice to be able to use formatting again. While I was away I frequented the IGN Boards, and non-subscribers can't use formatting *END OFF-TOPIC*

And when I do upload the new level, I would like people to tell me which version they enjoyed better, and had less framerate problems with. Don't worry, both will be included in some way, just the level as a whole will change somewhat on the one that was less enjoyed.

In conclusion--I am back, I am not dead, I was never banned, and I am ready to resume making Project Luna!
